That's right, I was accidentally sent up from a shelter into rescue. It was the best day of my life when the volunteers loaded me into the truck and drove my over 5 hours to my new destination. I wasn't really keen on the car ride, but once I got out, look out world, here comes Honey! Bio: My name fits me (used to be Lee Lee). I am very sweet and a good listener. My foster mom says I am doing great and that I was bossy at first with her own dog but have since calmed down now that I'm in a home. I'm a VERY affectionate dog but no one knows what I might be mixed with since I'm not very big at all. Someone guessed pit bull but I don't have the right structure. Another volunteer guessed some sort of min pin mix. My ears stick up (our group president calls them "crazy ears". I sort of look like a Pharoh hound mix, but who knows. They are calling me Lab X, which fits my mysterious nature. I was, after all, a mistake to begin with and no one knew who I was, so it's fitting that they don't know my mix either.
Since I've been in foster care I have learned to sit, give paw, and spin in a circle for a treat. Potty training is going great and I'm a real joy to be around. I was even featured in the April Newsletter for our Rescue group. Check me out at www.allbreed.webs.com Forums Motto: Sweet as HONEY
I am a very good girl and love everyone I meet. I will make a fantastic addition to a family.
The best part about our adoptions is the food! I love going out for a treat at Healthy Hounds in Flossmore or to Pet Supplies Plus in Dyer. Nothing makes me happier than something to nibble on while we're out for the day.
We were dog sitting last week for Remmy, who is an active older dog. It was fun while he was here, but I really liked it when Luke, the Borzoi mix, was visiting. He's very calm and laid back. I saw him last weekend and gave him a kiss--but don't tell anyone! We don't want rumors started!
I have the distinction of being here in rescue longer than any other dog in our foster system. Why is that? I'm a little....shy. I get very nervous in big crowds, so I become a wallflower and cringe.
If I could sit down and talk to you, I would tell you I spent many months in a cage in a shelter, but that now I have a fantastic foster mom who loves me lots. She has taught me all sorts of things and I live with her and her permanent dog. We get along great.
Just recently my foster mom's daughter came and brought her new baby! I was very concerned when the baby would cry. My foster mom says I have been really good with kids.
Some of us aren't the life of the party, but that doesn't mean we aren't full of love and kisses. We just need to find someone patient, someone who will take us home and give us the life we deserve. I was shy with my foster, too, but I have warmed up and love her lots. I am worth the wait! I just know it!
My foster mom is teaching me cool things like shake and spinning in a circle for a treat. She's hoping this will make me more adoptable since I've been with her for a while now. Don't get me wrong....she LOVES me! But she wants me to find a great home so I won't be all mixed up after being with her for a while.
