Bio:
Cosmo is an 11 month old purebred American Foxhound with excellent manners. His mother was a champion in the field. He is crate trained, and rarely makes a sound. He does not bark...at all. Even when I take him out into the park and let him run loose and try to get him all excited, he simply WILL NOT BARK. I live in a busy apartment complex, and the most reaction he displays (even from my rowdy neighbors) is a very intense, but calm and non-obsessive watching. He is also house-broken, which is a big plus if you want your carpet to stay clean and you don't enjoy waking up at 3AM to let a dog do his business. Puppies are great, but let's face it, the majority of us do not like putting up with dogs messing all over the house, or applying the necessary reinforcement. This makes Cosmo an excellent choice if you are looking to adopt. He walks extremely well on the leash. He does not pull. A simple check (a la Cesar Millan) every now and then to keep him focused and in perfect heeling position is all you need with this guy. When I jog with him, he is ALWAYS in perfect position. He loves to run, because that's what he was bred to do. Lots of the pictures I posted are of him on the couch or the bed. If you are the type of person (like my mother, bless her heart) that doesn't allow dogs on the furniture, that is not a problem. He would not get on my couch and bed when I first brought him home. When I want him up, I signal him and he comes up. when I want him down, I give a gentle tug on his collar and he gets off the couch. **This guy LOVES being next to you curled up** True to his breed, he is extremely calm indoors and is somewhat of a "couch potato." However, when we're working in the field, he really turns it on, and you should see this guy move. He's really got some wheels. I'm amazed at how well he minds for being only 11 months old. The best part is, it's only going to get better with age! PLEASE CONSIDER ADOPTING COSMO!
