Arrival Story:
Rosie was adopted by our family in November 2008, after losing our Sunny-boy earlier in the year. Rosie and her niece, Annie, were given into rescue together, and the rescue group wanted to place them both into the same new home. Apparently they were meant to be with us, because they waited many months before we came along and adopted them. My oldest daughter and I made a flying trip down the I-5 corridor from Portland OR to just south of Stockton, CA to pick these two girls up from their foster home. We left home Friday evening, got the girls on Saturday, and were home by Sunday. And they've settled in like they were waiting for us to come adopt them all along.

Bio:
Rosie is a really enthusiastic "talker." She waits until I'm home from work and everything has settled a bit, then she comes and "tells" me all about her day. She is SO sweet! She almost never barks in the house (except when she is excited and wants to play) but when we get to the dog park...watch out! She is absolutely true to her breed-she tries to herd the other dogs up, and if there are any canine altercations, she scolds all of the individuals involved! She doesn't always know the difference between rough playing & fighting sometimes, and breaks up rowdy playmates. But no one seems to mind, she never tries to hurt anyone, just places herself in the middle of the troublemakers and barks at everyone involved. She's always very aware of where we are at all times, and will come check in with me periodically, as if she were telling me that all is well, and she hasn't forgotten me! What a darling she is. OK, she can be a little bossy...if I fall behind on our walks, she will give a big sigh, then come back to urge me to speed up a bit! gotta love it! :)

Rosie is a very sweet natured, quiet, and loving girl. She is just a little shy about trusting at first, but once she decides you are a friend, you've got a friend forever. When we take the dogs to the dog park, Rosie spends most of her time keeping the other dogs under control and breaking up any dissension between them...even if she's never met them before! She is a real sweetheart!
