Arrival Story:
I adopted Kate from the Tri-Valley SPCA in Dublin, California, in February 2004. I adopted her as an eight-year-old doggy, but a lot of people ask if she's a puppy! The story I have heard is that her previous owners were moving to Spain, and the process to take a dog to Spain would be very hard on Kate. It involves something like a 6 month quarantine in a government kennel. I wish I knew more about the previous eight years of Kate's life, or knew her siblings, but we still have a lot of time to make new memories. She is also my first dog. Allergies of family members or my living arrangments have prevented me from adopting a doggy before.

Bio:
Charles is my "owner" (see pictures to the left). Well, there is a lot to say about me. Charles calls me lazy -- ha! So I enjoy the couch a lot -- what's wrong with that? My life goal is to eat all the cookies the world has to offer, and to catch those damn pesky squirrels! Just as soon as I finish my nap... Feel free to send me a love note, I have tail-mail enabled! Or, Charles can send some smoke signals for long distance communication. Whatever!

Life goes on, learning new things

Not a lot has changed since last time. Charles has been brining me to his new "workplace" sometimes, although it's where we've been going for classes before! In fact, it's where I stayed a long time ago. It is very scary if he puts me in the crate there though, because I am afraid he will leave me and I will be here alone again. So far he has not left me though, he always comes and he is always happy to see me!

Charles is also teaching me a few new things. Just yesterday, I was put to the test. Walking up the street, there was another doggy (off leash!), people playing catch, and a kid on a scooter. Normally those are all very exciting things for me, but with lots of treats he showed me it's okay to be relaxed during these events! I sat, and even did down right in front of all of that. Of course, the person with the loose dog had to grab her dog. I know that I have better manners than that!

Normally I like to bark at people playing catch, but I didn't make a peep! I also didn't chase the person on the scooter. I walked right on by. Charles is so proud of me.

Not a lot of tails to tell.

Charles and I have gone to tricks class three times now. Charles kept telling me we were going to see Tom but we didn't. What a let down. Anyways, they are teaching me these weird things... like this clicking noise! Every time it happens I get a treat. Every time I stick my nose in this bowl I get a treat. People are weird, ya know?

My toy ball seems to have mysteriously filled up with treats again. See my new picture!

I had a great walk with Macadoodle at Tilden Park!

Today was a good day! Charlie and I went up to Inspiration Point in Tilden Park. Then we met up with Mac and his "owner" Lauren! To be honest, even though he is on my Pal's list, I hadn't quite met him in person yet, so I was a bit nervous. Charlie made sure we were okay though, so it really worked out and by the end of the walk we were good buds!

I hope we can walk again together soon. What's funny is he dresses better than Charles. Ha!

This Sunday there WILL be tricks class, which Stomper is also in. This is going to be great.
