Arrival Story:
I was only keeping River on the days off during Christmas Holidays, so hw would not have to stay in a kennel. He was so well behaved and got along really well with my resident dogs, I was able to keep him until we find the perfect home for him. Prior to that he came from the Gaston Shelter

River is wonderful. He is 45 lb male . Cutest little thing I've ever seen. He is adjusting GREAT. I'm pretty sure is is almost completly deaf....sometimes I think he can hear high pitches.
He is very good with the other dogs & has started to play with them...Dottie gave him a hard time for a few days but they are playing together right now. He is TOTALLY housetrained. He adores my daughter, is great in the house. Sleeps in the bed with one of the kids. He LOVES his person(s) and will be a VERY devoted dog to whom ever adopts him. He LOVES to have his ears cleaned, LOL ...he pushes Daylin out of the way when I get the ear cleaner out..how funny is that.
He is not good in a crate... He is doing good free roan in a dog proof room be fine free roam ..
Cats are hit or miss with him. For the most part ..he ignores them ..however he does NOT like them near him when he is trying to sleep ... He will run them off. So I would say a very standoffish cat would be fine.
He is a great dog & his hearing is hardly issue. Honestly. I would incourage anyone to meet him & see. He is a great cuddler & super sweet. He would be great for anyone ... even for a child as long as they are old enough to understand he can't hear... he requires little to no special treatment
