Quick Bio:
-purebred
Birthday: February 28th 2008 Likes: She jumps a few feet in the air for Cloud Star jerky! She just loves being the center of attention Pet-Peeves: Riding in the car- she likes to go but gets carsick. Favorite Toy: She likes to tease Roper with all his favorite stuffies Favorite Food: She picks the Orijen out first, then the Core, then eats whatever is left... Arrival Story: We had been looking for a small dog friend for Cocobear and after being turned down by many rescues because of bigger dogs and/or kids and not finding any suitable small dogs in shelters, we looked at some breeders. Gypsy is a big girl as Poms go, and her breeder was looking for a furever home for her. We drove across WA and it was love at first sight! Bio: Gypsy has lived with only Poms, so she is going to take some time to get used to us. We already know she is sweet and playful, but she was afraid of Levi and Roper at first.
Update 2/21: Well, the fear is over! Gypsy runs and plays with Roper and Fling and Levi lets her do whatever her little Pommie heart desires. She's not the great pal to Coco we had hoped for, but she tries to love us all! Forums Motto: Did you say you need a new queen? Dogster must think I have a lot to bark about :)
I was chosen as diary of the day AND a daily diary pick this week.
We actually do have some exciting news- we are going to be adopting a new little dog into our family next week. Her name is Juna and she is currently at a shelter in eastern WA. Some nice people from a rescue group are going to bring her over the mountains to Seattle! Now we are waiting on the official adoption and see if she can stay at the shelter until the rescue group can get her. Little Juna looks like a baby cattle dog- she has that speckly gray fur and even a black patch! But she is a 12 pound grown up dog- we can't wait to meet her.
Maybe she can get trained to go on therapy dog visits with me and Tonka. I know the kids will take her to training, too. Maybe this will start to heal our boy's heart over the loss of Cocobear.
We will keep you posted, but keep Juna in your thoughts and prayers that she has a safe trip and is a good match for our Posse!
Mama has sure been a slacker on my diary!
I have turned into the sweetest little girl in the year and a half I've been here. Sadly, I do still get carsick or I'd love to go everywhere. Cerenia helps me feel better, but I don't take it too often. I passed my CGC test and TDI test so that I can be a therapy dog with a local rescue group. I'll do great with people young and old, I hope! My oldest boy has been taking me to a trick/pre-agility class and we both love it. I'm good at the agility equipment-maybe some day I'll be ready to compete...
For now, I am loving my family and enjoying our cool summer.
Hope you all are doing the same :)
The kids took me and Cocobear to the Petswalk yesterday, and it was a fun day with gorgeous weather! Coco and I tried some agility- I'm a little more confident than him. We also met lots of nice dogs and people and got some yummy treats. And the money from the walk helped out some shelter dogs. Our pals Chase and Byngham both took the CGC test and did GREAT- they both passed! I think mama needs to do that stuff with me- I'm a smart lil cookie and now that I found out that the Cerenia keeps me from puking all over the car, I need to go LOTS more places with her...
There are more pics from Petswalk at the end of my photobook.
