Happy New Year! I've been in my foster home for about a month now. I have completely recovered from my spay surgery and I'm heartworm negative, so I'm ready to find my forever home! My foster mom says I am the best little foster girl ever! I immediately made friends with all the other dogs here, got adjusted to the new routine, and have even been helping my foster mom out with some of the other fosters who don't listen as well as I do! I am a happy, affectionate and playful girl. I enjoy playing with toys, cuddling with my foster parents, wrestling with the other dogs, and just relaxing around the house. I am actually a pretty calm Boxer girl for my age. I have a best doggie friend here named Henley. He and I like to play rough and wrestle our way across the room. Sometimes foster mom tells us to 'cool it' and I listen right away, but dumb Henley never does! I am a very good girl in my crate, going in willingly and napping quietly until it's time to come out. Sometimes my foster mom doesn't even crate me since I am now house-trained and I have never chewed on anything inappropriate in the house. I do not guard my food, bones or toys. Sometimes Henley rips toys right out of my mouth and I don't even get mad at him. My foster parents are teaching me some obedience commands. So far I know 'sit' and 'shake.' I've got lots more to learn, but I'm a smart girl so I catch on quick. My foster mom says we need to work on leash walking... apparently she's out of shape and I go too fast for her! I'm a small Boxer girl, quite short and stocky. I have the most adorable squishy face (so they tell me) and I like to give hugs and kisses. I am friendly with everyone who comes over to the house to visit. My foster mom thinks that my forever home will come along very soon. I hope she is right. I can't wait to meet my forever family and give them the unconditional love that Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue has given me!

Shannon is getting settled in her foster home. She is an adorable, happy and curious little girl who loves to explore the house and yard. Shannon has reacted nicely when greeting other dogs in her foster home. She loves to cuddle with her foster mom and play toys with her foster dad. She is currently working on crate-training and house-training skills. She will gladly enter her crate for a tasty treat and is pretty quiet and well-behaved while crated. Soon Shannon will begin working on leash skills and basic obedience commands. She is very food motivated and intelligent, so she will be super easy to train! Shannon enjoys meeting new people and has typical bouncy Boxer play. She may be a little too active for small kids who do not have Boxer experience. Shannon would thrive in most any home that offers daily exercise and unconditional love!

Hi I'm Shannon. I'm about 2 years old. I'm what they call a Pocket Boxer :O) I'm about 40 lbs.

I've had some hard times ...but I don't let any of that bother me at all.

I love to have fun , I love everyone I meet , I yhink people are great & when the talk to me ..I wiggle so hard my feet come off the ground. I like other dogs too.

I'm having to stay at the Vet right now ...because I had babies , I got real sick & couldn't feed them, so my owner tried to starve me, but the folks at the shelter come & got me & my babies so they could try to help us ...only 2 lived, I did the best I could, so did theybut they were too weak. but I didn't have any milk ...only infection.

It was so bad I had to have surgery & I have to heal better before I can leave. But it's ok .. I really like it here ..the people are so nice ..they feed me lots , I've gained over 12 lbs ... I was about 26lbs. I have a warm blanky & a nice cozy cage & I know which one is mine too... I run right to it.

No feeling sorry for myself ..I'm so happy ..I was very lucky so many people cared about me so much to help me ... I wag my tail & kiss them so they know I'm grateful.

I'm a little ball of fun..I'm going to be a great girl I'm going to have to learn things about being an 'inside dog' but I just know I will love it and you ! I was always be happy to see you & do funny thing to make you laugh..so if you think you can love me too ...ask the BRBR folks about me :o)
