Arrival Story: I had always wanted a shar pei. I found him on craigslist. The family that had him couldn't take care of him anymore. He chewed up all their shoes and was getting too expensive to take care of. They called him dopey because they thought he was dumb. They didn't know what shar peis are smart and not slavish followers of orders. He was just allowed to run wild in their back yard. It turns out that he just needed a lot of training and socialization. After two years of weekly private training sessions and lots of extra work, we have a perfect dog that passed his canine good citizenship with flying colors.
