Arrival Story: Penny is the sweetest girl you could ever meet, and thats what I saw when I first met her. I saw a picture online, at the local shelter, and put in my application. I thought that I would be denied a dog once again because of one thing or another, working full time and being single apparently don't make you a desirable guardian. To my amazement, I was approved almost immediatly, and was told I could come meet her anytime. I did, as soon as a could. I saw a skinny girl behind a fence. She was obviously a mommy, and the workers told me she had a litter of five 3 months earlier. All of them had been adopted and she was left behind. She was in need of a proper diet and a loving home. I wanted desperatly to give her both. I took her home with me that day. That was only a week ago (as I write this 2/15) and she has only left my side when I go to work. I find myself rushing home still, not because Im afraid of what she's destroyed (she is a really good dog), but becuase I miss her. Even as I write this she is curled up next to me, snoring loudly and dreaming. I hope its good dreams of chasing rabbits. I don't know why anyone would want to get rid of such a wonderful dog, but I'm glad she found me.
