Gods Speed Sweet Effie!!!

It is with a very heavy heart that I post that we are helping Effie cross to
the Rainbow Bridge.
She had an internal tumor that ruptured and her entire abdomen is filled
with blood. She
was suffering and chances of her surviving a surgery to see whether anything
could be done
would be very slim.

Hi- I'm Effie. I am an old girl, whose family dumped me rather than take care of some medical problems. Now I am with my foster Mom Catherine, and am all fixed up and doing well. I love my brother and sister dogs, but would like my own home. My Mom says I am the only dog she ever had who NEVER made a pubddle on the floor inside! I am very sweet and smart, and I love to cuddle, especially if I can put my head on a little dog or my human! I follow directions well too- better than people! Wouldn't you like to take me home and give me love back??

Effie has been doing well at my house, in spite of her many ailments. The best news is that the vet said she was HW negative, and had a great blood culture. She went to the vet yesterday (poor darling was in heat!), and has had her huge tumor and smaller one removed, was spayed, and her eye, which was one big abcess, was removed as well. The vet said that she could not see anyhow because of the abcess, which had eaten away at the eye enough that it was not fixable. However, she sees well enough to get around just fine, goes out by herself, down to the ground from the deck, and sure knows how to jump on the bed. She eats and drinks up a storm too, and loves my Cinderella. I think she has a great future ahead fo her! Now all she needs is a place to retire! Do you have a place for this sweet soul in your home??
