We decided on a beagle because we had size limitations at our apartment but still wanted a "big dog". The rescue group "marketed" him as a man's beagle (but frankly he's very attached to Mommy!). When we met him I was petting another dog up for adoption, but my husband came over to me with Tonka in his arms and said "I like this one." The rest is history!! Forums Motto: Got food? So.... in between naps I've been discovering things about my new hometown. Mommy says it is a place called Raleigh, NC. I don't know my geography very well but this place has lots of good stuff to sniff! However, I'm sneezing a lot and since I'm a hound dog I always walk with my nose to the ground. Each time I pick my head up I have green stuff all over my snout. Daddy says it is called pollen and it really makes me sneeze! I even had to go to the vet because my allergies to this place made my eyes goopy and red (yes, goopy is the scientific term).
Anyhoo, Mommy works from home these days and so I get to spend 9 hours at a time sleeping in bed or on the sofa. I like this a lot! And then Daddy comes home after my naps and then we go to the Oakwood Dog Park where I get to howl all night long. Some people love my melodious singing voice, but I think some others are put-off by it. I'm not being mean, I'm just telling everyone that I'm the BOSS!
Mommy and Daddy take me when they go exploring whenever they can. So far, these are my favorite new places to visit in North Carolina:
MoJoe's Burger Joint - sometimes, if I look sad enough, the waitresses give me bacon! William B. Umstead State Park - hey, a dog's gotta hike a lot to burn off the bacon calories The Outer Banks - whoa! Lots of good stuff to sniff on the beach! Cameron Village Shops - Sometimes we walk to this place. Daddy likes the beer at the Village Draft House

One bummer of living in NC - I miss my friend Cane so much! I know I can find him online here. I hope he can visit me really soon!
