We received an email from Shelby's forever parents that she passed away on the way to the ER on Tues morning. Shelby was very much loved by her forever parents and she was such a good girl for the short time we fostered her. We looked forward to seeing her at the yearly rescue picnics. God rest the soul of this sweet girl.

My Mom sent a couple pictures to my foster Dad. Here's my Christmas picture and one of me in the summer at the outter banks in NC. My foster Dad says I'm really looking good.

I emailed Shelbies new mom and she says she's doing great. She's so glad she adopted her. She says her fur has almost all grown back in and she's looking great. She has even taken her into work where she lays under the desk. I'm glad to hear Shelby is doing so well.

Good luck baby

Shelby has gone to her forever home. She knew something was up and did not want to go. It was hard to see her go like that. At least we should see her again at the rescue picnic.

I've been informed by the rescue director that Shelby has been adopted. They are coming Sat. to pick her up. They are getting a really nice, sweet dog. We will miss her.

Shelby is coming to me looking for loving more often, so maybe she's warming up to men more now. She's getting around pretty good. She does well on steps and is the only one who has no problem going half way up and stopping to wait on us. She walks well on leash and does not need a fenced yard, she never wanders off. While she doesn't paly with toys, she runs besides Shadow when he is retrieving his toy. She gets along fine with my other three Shelties. I don't know how she is with cats. She is very gentle when taking food from your hand and does well with my 2 1/2 year old grandson. But, she seems to be a bit delicate, so she may do better with a little older children. She loves to be petted and will stand there as long as you are willing to pet her. She has had no accidents in the house. She is not pushy at mealtime and will patiently wait her turn. She is no trouble when giving her a bath. All in all, she is a sweet girl.

Shelby is doing good. Her skin is hardly flaking anymore and her fur isn't as dry. She does have problem with one of her legs, we have to keep her from jumping too far to keep from hurting it. She is a sweet girl who will allow you to pet her as long as you are willing. When she wants attention she will rub her whole body against you. While she doesn't yet play with toys, she really wants to play with Shadow and all he does is ignore her. It's sad seeing him ignore her like that. This week she is getting groomed so we can take some pictures for the rescue website.

In the profile, I said she is good with kids. But, they should be older kids.

I haven't had Shelby long enough to get to know her well. The first night when I picked her up she was scared, but she rode great in the car. After just a couple minutes she layed down and went to sleep. At home she was scared and nervous as you can imagine. I couldn't get her to eat anything that night. The next day she was much better following us around and looking for some loving. She has a skin and fur problem that we are dealing with. I think part of the problem was her diet, so I'm giving her a high quality food. On that first full day she ate like a horse, wolfing down the food. She needs to lose some weight so we'll see how she is when she gets to her proper weight. She is a little skittish still. She sometimes ducks away when you reach out to pet her, but that is probably because of the small child that was too rough on her at her former home. Except for the skin problem, the Vet gave her a clean bill of health.
