A Collie who, as a intact stray, had been shot in the face and left for dead. After several months of eluding Good Samaritans who attempted to help him, he was captured and brought to a shelter in Michigan. He weighed 40 lbs., was full of ticks and open wounds. It was discovered by x-rays that had a broken jaw that had healed broken. He had surgery that included neutering and removal of seven teeth that had abscessed. His entire body had to be shaved to the skin as it was thought that maggots would hatch in the many open sores on his body. He came to me to be fostered back to health and although we've been through 3 additional surgeries due to complications from the gunshot wounds he is a very healthy and happy guy. Sweet as can be! His full story (with photos) can be read at www.mwcr.org, click on Persy's story. We don't know how old he is. Bio: Sadly, we lost Persy in June of 2007. He was a great friend and loved by many.
