Hello Everyone. This is Amanda, Meta's foster mom. I wanted to let you know that you won't be hearing any more updates on Meta because she is now in her FOREVER home!
I say that with just as much sadness as I do joy. Meta is a wonderful companion and she was such a joy to have in my house! I know that she will make her new family happy, because to be in a room with Meta is to know love. She is a little shy at first, but once she is up in your lap and kissing you with her gently kisses then she knows she has you hooked. I have added some pictures of her and her new family. Also I will try and post updates as I get them from her new family from anyone that is interested. :D

I will tell you that if you have ever even considered the thought of being a foster parent then I would say DO IT! No matter how much you tell yourself that you aren't going to get attatched, you are wrong but to see them in a happy home and loved makes it all worth it.

I honestly have to say that I can't say enough good things about Kira and her family! I know that Meta will be SPOILED and well taken care of. She will be shown lots of love and be held quite frequently. To see Meta smile is all worth it!

Kira if you are reading this then all I ask is that if you ever need anything you know how to reach me! I know that Meta is in good hands now. :D

Hey Future Adopters,
I wanted to let you know what has been going on with me. It has been
CRAAAZY around here. I have met so many new and different people I
can’t even keep up. I didn’t realize that my foster Mom had to be the
social butterfly of Catawba County…. Can’t she see that I am getting
older and all I want to do is chill out and relax in my soft comfy
bed?? Oh no, that doesn’t suit her. We went to an event in Greenville,
SC at the Crown Nissan last weekend. We had a lot of fun and I got to
meet the wonderful people that helped put me in my foster mom’s home.
I still am not sure if I am happy with those people or not…. I also
got to meet a lot of the other dogs that are just like me, looking for
their forever home. Two were lucky that day and their wish came true.
Hopefully mine will come soon!

This is only Thursday and my foster Mom decided to take me to Bandy’s
High School to do a lecture on Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue, so that young
people will know that dogs like me are out there waiting for forever
homes. She wanted to show them that there isn’t anything “wrong” with
me and that I am a good girl and are worthy of being loved
unconditionally. Not too toot my own horn, but I was great. I didn’t
get into anything that I wasn’t supposed to and honestly I started to
become a social butterfly myself. I got so many rubs, hugs, and kisses
from all the young adults that I still have human drool on me. Yuck! I
was so tired that I crashed in the last class and didn’t have the
energy to make my rounds. I will have to admit that I liked all the
attention, because I love to put a smile on your face… Don’t you want
someone that wants to lay around and cuddle with you and still have
the energy to go and do things when you want to do them. (As long as
you are not worse than my foster mom. Hehe)

Do you know what my foster mom is up to now? I just heard her talking
to my foster Dad and she mentioned about going to the Adopt-a- thon in
Asheville on Saturday. That is only 2 days away!! Somebody please
adopt me before my foster mom runs me ragged?!?! I really do want to
be in my forever home soon, so that maybe I can get some time to
relax. That doesn’t seem like that is going to happen anytime soon
here. Speaking of which, I am going to go crash in my crate and sleep.
Hope to see you soon!?!?!

Still Looking For My Forever Home

2-1-09 Hey Everyone! It is me, Meta, again!!

I just have to tell you what I have been through…. Not too long after
I got to my foster mom’s I was sick. She didn’t know what was wrong
with me, so decided to take me to the vet. They found out that I had
Pancreatitis, I had no idea how to pronounce it, no less know what it
was. All I knew was that after I ate I felt yucky. They told me that
I needed to go on a special diet, because my tummy can’t take rich
foods. It looks like I will have to be on this “special” diet for the
rest of my life. I don’t mind, because my new food tastes great!!
Don’t tell my foster mom, but I know she has been hiding the
antibiotics in those yummy treats. She doesn’t have a lot of them in
the bottle, so it doesn’t look like I will be on them for long. With
the medicine and the new food, I feel much better!!

I now like having that puppy around to play with. This morning he even
tried to take my toy from me. Needless to say he and I played tug of
war over what was mine. The nerve of him to think that he can beat me
in tug-o-war… I am twice his size, can’t he see that? Oh well, we had
a lot of fun anyways. My foster mom noticed that I was feeling better
and decided to take me to Nana’s house to run. She lives out in the
sticks, so no roads or cars around. I got to run and run my little
heart out today with no leash. I was so tired that I slept all the way
home.

Later we went to Petsmart to get me a new toy of my choice. I met a
lot of new people. I have found that not all men are so bad after all.
I even went up to 4 of them and mom didn’t have to sneak them a treat!
I even met a few people that was admiring my beauty and said that they
would like to take me home with them…. You better get your
applications in soon because this girl is gonna find her forever home
soon!

1st Week In Her Foster Home

1-20-09 Hey everyone it is me META,

I want to tell you a little about myself. I am a quiet and calm girl.
I am a little older, but I still have lots of love and time that I
want to give to you. I will admit that I like women better than men,
but after a little while I come to realize that they are ok too. Did I
mention I love kids? I am ok will all ages of kids, but, I prefer it
if they don’t want to play with me all the time. If it is left to me
then I would lay at your feet or in the floor beside you. I am house
broken and I am crate trained. I will go right in my crate if you just
point and say “in”. I love my crate so much that if I am missing just
look for me there. I don’t want to boast, but my foster mom says that
I am really smart. I already know: sit, down, watch me, shake (give
you my paw) and beg. (I don’t beg for food on the table though.) I
will do anything for treats. Sometimes I get so excited knowing that I
am going to get a treat I forget what you asked me to do…..My foster
mom thinks it is funny when I do them all trying to remember.

I get along well with other dogs, but I would prefer to be in a house
with an older dog or no dog at all. Currently at my foster mom’s there
is a 3 month old puppy that wants to play with me ALL the time. I like
to go hide in my crate or tell mom on him when he keeps bothering me.
She puts him on a leash and keeps him tied to her, so I normally go
lay with my foster Dad or with my skin brother. I always want to be
close to someone at all times. I am not really big on playing with
toys, but I LOVE chews and rawhides. There are plenty of them lying
around my foster mom’s because her puppy likes to take mine. I let him
take it without a fuss and go find another one. I also love it when
mom puts peanut butter in my Kong. I will amuse myself until I have my
fill of peanut butter. I am also ok with cats, but I don’t understand
that the cats that I go visit aren’t ok with me.

My foster mom likes to take me with her all kinds of places. I walk on
a leash with no problem, but I get a little excited and pull, so I now
wear a harness to keep from walking my foster mom. We have gone to
Petsmart multiple times and I love meeting the other dogs and all the
people that want to rub me. I back a way a little if they are men, but
I see my foster mom sneak them a treat and I take it from them. :D

If you think that you would want to have me follow you anywhere in the
house and give you all the love that I have, then I am the RIGHT DOG
for YOU. Please fill out an application, because my foster mom
doesn’t think I will be on the website long.
