Well pups, it's hot here in Texas! But that is cool with me, cuz I gots air conditionin' and a big ole waterin' hole out back to get in!
First, thanks to all the puppers who wished me happy birthday, sent rosettes and gifts! I sure does appreciamate it! I had a good birthday-- lotsa treatses and toys!!
Dis are da first weekend in a while dat I've spent at home... last two weekends me and Momma went down to Austin, first for Momma's Day and den fur Ally's gradumatation from the University of Texas at Austin....
Momma got me a new summery background fur my page and I'm gonna get her to get on the ball and post some more pics of yours truly....
Here's one photo from the gradumatation.... they sets off fireworks at the end! They lit up the windows with the number 12 for the gradumatation year...

On a serious note, today is Memorial Day... take a moment to reflect and think about all those who have served to help keep us safe. Momma always thinks of her favorite uncle, who lost his arm when he went out to pull a buddy off an airfield dat was being bombed. He never let it stop him from doing what he wanted to do-- he golfed, hung wallpaper, you name it...so Tom, dis is fur you...Memorial Day

It's my 6th birthday!! Yippee!! Bring on the toys and treats, Momma!!
Actually, right now I'm still in Austin, visitin'-- see, this weekend, Maurice's Momma graduated from the University of Texas!! We's all so proud of her!
Later today me and Momma and Maurice and his Momma are all headed back home... Yea!! Maybe then my party can begin!! Let's see, Momma... I wants toys, toys, and more toys!!
And some yummies, and a walk, and by the way.... did I mention TOYS???

Well, pups, let me tells ya all about the Fiesta Pooch Parade! On Friday, Momma and me packed our bags and headed for Austin. We picked up Whitley and her Momma and we kepts goin' south-- down San Antonio way. That night Whit and me guarded the hotel room while Momma and Whit's Momma went to NIOSA (that means Night in Ole San Antonio-- which is one huge party packed with people downtown at La Villita and then they went to eat at a restaurant on the River Walk.
Bright and early the next mornin', we headed over the the Fiesta Pooch Parade. Momma wuz amazed cuz I wuz so excited about the Parade and all the pups that I didn't scratch myself even once for hours and hours... and Whitley, well, pups, you's gonna find this hard to believe.... "SHE SHUT HER YAPPER!!" Yeah, I know, shockin!!! We gots out of the car and Whit is all "BARK, BARK, BARK" all the way up the hill till we got to where all da pups wuz. Well, there wuz hundreds of pooches, and fer sum reason, dat made Whitley be quiet.
We looked and looked for Ebby and Ceeley but there wuz lots of dachsunds and we wuz thinkin' we wouldn't spot them. So's we headed back to the starting line and Momma spotted Ebby!!
There is no mistakin' that grin of Miss Ebby's! And Miss Ceeley-- I don't know what this bad press about grumpiness wuz cuz she wuz as nice as could be wid us! We sniffed noses and everyone wuz relieved we all liked each other! Well, duh, Mommas, we's Dogster buddies!! We also met Ceeley's brother who got to ride for the entire parade route! Lucky dog!
Well, some pups started the parade 'fore the "official start" so we's decided to head out. As we passed a policeman, he spoke into his radio "The dogs are on the move!!! The parade has unofficially started!!" BOL! BOL!
Almost right away, people were lining the parade route to gaze at our magnificence! And bestow treats upon us! They had set up watering stations all along the route and tossed goodies our way. I swear pups, the streets of San Antonio are paved in dog treats of so many kinds it boggled my lil pup mind! And lil kids wuz running out to pet us and admire us and give us more goodies! I thought I wuz dreamin' and never wanted to wake up!
One lady even let us choose from her basket of perfectly arranged goodies-- she wuz the Martha Stewart of the dog treat peeps with her artfully arranged treats!! Oh my dog!!
I gots to figger out how to get Momma to carry me up the steepest hill... Ceeley and Ebby have figgered how to work that angle and that carryin' looked pretty good!
After the parade, Momma and Whit's momma went to EZ's to get a lil lunch before headin' back to Austin. They had the patio all set up for pooches and gave us treatses and water and the Mommas got free sodas if ya had a dog with ya!
I tells ya, that San Antonio place sure likes us pups!!

Today is Jez's birthday. She has some kitty friends named Zack and Zoey and they sent her a present-- a cat bed laced with catnip. She went crazy over the thing....

In other kitty news, Maurice is still in the emergency vet hospital, but he's improving. Hopefully, he will get to come home on Wednesday or Thursday. Whit's Momma and Maurice's Momma got to go see him this evening. He was wanting pets and to be hand-fed...work it, Maurice!! We's all so grateful for all the POTP and good thoughts our Dogster and Catster friends have sent his way... you all the best!!!

Maurice, Ally's cat, and Whitley's kitty luv, is in da emergency vet hospital in Austin.
Momma wuz talkin' to Whit's momma on da phone and she heard Ally tell Whit's momma that Maurice wuz havin' some accidents outside da kitty litter box again. Dis raised a red flag wid Momma cuz she had a kitty, Tiger, who died from cystitis when she wuz a girl. She told Whit's Momma to put him in his box and see if he could go. He tried, but couldn't and did a sad lil cry. Momma told her to take him to the emergency vet in Austin pronto cuz he wuz probably blocked.
Poor Maurice wuz blocked-- so now he is in the emergency vet there in Austin and they's tryin' to make him all better. Poor guy-- they said his bladder was really big, but luckily had not burst. He is gonna have to stay in the hospital a couple of days and then will probably be on an all canned food diet.
So if you's got a minute or two, can you say a prayer (if you're the prayin' kind) or send him some mojo... we all luvs the big lug and wants him to be all better... sniff... sniff...

Well, pups, I had a travelin' weekend. Daddy went to Arizona to see his Dad, so me and Momma went down to Austin to see Whitley, her Momma, and Ally and Maurice the cat.
We wuz leavin' on Friday, backin' out of the driveway, when 2 mallards flew overhead and looked like the landed in our pool.... then 2 more!! Momma pulled back into the garage, fished me out of the crate, and we went into the backyard to bust up the pool party!! I did my job, rushed the pool a'barkin' and them boy ducks took the party elsewhere!! Momma likes ducks but not the mess they would leave in our pool!

Well, we eventually got on the road and made it down to Austin-- me and Whitley got some walks around her neighborhood, some fun playing with the bunnies we gots for Easter, and just had a good time. Maurice did the funniest thing... he started to jump down and swat me then realized it wuz ME and not Whitley, who puts up with his foolishness... and he twisted in midair and jumped up to the back of the couch instead! It looked bizarro!!
Me and Momma came home yesterday and Daddy today... all wuz fine... and some new flowers were blooming...

Hi pups! Well, as some of you might have heard on the news, we had us some exciting times here in Big D this week. On Tuesday, tornadoes visited the area... the sirens went off, and Momma and me and Jez headed to the interior bathroom to wait out the sirens. We wuz lucky, here in Plano, the 2 storm cells went to the west and east of us, and all we gots wuz some rain... and Momma singing a song to da tune of Stuck in the Middle with You... with the lyrics up dere in my title.
So we wuz spared, Momma's garden wuz spared, and all's well at our house...

Today were not a good day. It started out purdy good. It were sunny and warm and I gots to spend time in both the front and back gardens. But then, when Daddy came home from Half Price books, he told Momma I greeted him limpin'... and yep, I wuz... limpin...
(Daddy goes to Half Price books to buy CDs fer a buck-- it's kinda an addiction with him, Momma sez... and then she sighs...)
Anyhow, they checked me over but couldn't figger out why I's limping. It got a little better by afternoon, but then Momma gave me an allergy shot. C'mon Momma, I's hurt already and you's got to stick me wid a needle???
Oh well... tomorrow are anudder day, to quote that Scarlett O'Hara gal....
