It has been a busy couple of weeks. I am happy to say that I am fully recovered from my illness and feeling fine. Mom is behind on my diary again so we will go back to last week.

After I was sick, I got very stinky. I usually don't have a strong doggy odor but I was so smelly that mom and dad took me to Dirty Hairy's for a bath. I had been there before so I was more relaxed. The water felt good and I enjoyed the attention. Mom and dad scrubbed me down and even used conditioner. I was all shiny and smelled wonderful again. Mom and dad had the lady trim my nails so that they would be ready for my up coming costume contests. My nails still had hot pink polish on them from my contest in May when I was the Play Boy Bunny. The lady used the drummel to remove the old polish. I got a new purple bandana to add to my collection. I pranced when I left the shop.
On Sunday mom and dad noticed a lost dog sign on a telephone pole. One of our neighbors had recently adopted two little Yorkie terriers. I don't think this woman knows a lot about dogs because once when we were walking past, one of them escaped her and almost got hit by a car. She told us that both of them had escaped down on the River Trail. She went after the one who was the most active thinking the other one would stay close. She caught him, turned around and the other one was gone! That evening we went for a walk down the trail to search for her. Mom brought an extra leash. We told everyone we met to please be on the look out. We searched until it was almost dark. Sadly we didn't find her. Mom was worried because there are coyotes and fisher cats around in the woods. The woman said that her dog was also dragging a long purple leash that could have easily become tangles in the branches. We can only hope someone found her and gave her a good home. Very sad.

It was daddy's birthday on Friday. Daddy took the day off work. He called the fire department to come out and inspect our smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. We have to do this before we can sell our house. The whole firetruck came over! It was wild! Mom took me out for a walk while they did the test because the loud noise bothers my ears. Mom said it bothers her ears too! After they inspected our house, they said they were on their way to inspect the house we were buying!

Saturday was the Greyhound Rescue Of New England's fund raiser. It was almost near Aunt Carla's new house. It was a small event but we still had fun. Aunt Carla was there! It was so good to see her. We hung out at her booth. She furminated me for free! That felt good. I didn't have a lot of dead hair because of my bath, but she still got some off. We went for a nice walk along a river. My friends Gill and Skylar where there too. I had fun socializing with all the other greyhounds. The weather looked like it was going to rain so they started the doggie games early. I was in the costume contest. This was my first time competing with my new costume. It was a bit disappointing because there were only 2 other dogs in the contest- and they were dressed alike as a team. I still got to put on my costume and everyone was taking pictures of me. They gave both me and the other two dogs first prize. I got a blue ribbon and a squeaky orange pumpkin toy. Next they held the raffle. Mom put my name on the tickets again. I won a stuffed blue elephant. Come to find out, it wasn't a dog toy, so I gave it to mom. She loves stuffed animals as much as I do. It was a nice day.

Today we are going to the Pet Rock Festival. I will have more to write about that later.
