Arrival Story:
We were looking for a small-to-medium sized terrier and had started with the local shelters. They had two ... a Jack Russel that was very high energy, and this black and grey terrier mix. We took each one out, and the mix was a little calmer and a lot friendlier.
Once the tests were done and she was spayed, we left the shelter with a young (6 months to a year old) terrier/mini-schnauzer mix. She was a stray, and we named her Smokey. She's a bit skinny, but she was very well-behaved and appeared to be pretty well house-broken. She and Dee got along well; Smokey is very tolerant and comfortable with Dee, and Dee loved finally having a dog in the house. Even better, Smokey appears to have had some training already, as she responded properly to "here girl" and "leave it".
