Arrival Story:
Brewster's foster mom, Stacie from From the Heart Rescue, is good friends with Tempest's foster mom, Toni of Katy's Promise Rottweiler Rescue. After we lost our beloved black lab Yogi on New Year's Day, I took Brewster to see Stacie and donate some of Yogi's toys to her. She immediately thought of Tempest as the perfect sister for Brewster and called Toni. I'd seen her on PetFinder and frankly was pretty leery of a dog named Tempest. And it had only been a few days so we weren't quite ready yet for another dog yet. But I could tell Brewster was lonely and didn't want him getting too used to being an only dog. The problem was Brewster is really picky about who he hangs out with so we thought finding him a buddy was going to be a tricky business. Since Stacie knew both dogs we figured we'd give it a shot with Tempest. After some initial wariness, they warmed up to each other and now you'd think they'd been together forever!

Bio:
Apparently Rio had quite an attitude as a puppy, and earned the name "Tempest." And the way she wags her tail and spins around when she's happy does make her look like a force of nature. But she is very sweet and snuggly too, so I thought the name Tempest was a little harsh. She's very vivacious and when she wags her tail her whole body wiggles. It makes me think of Brazilian dancers at Carnivale, so that's where the name Rio came from.
