Wow it's been a long time!

Ok, so I'm almost as bad as mommy about updating things! Here's a quick run down of the last two years.

Mommy and I moved to Baton Rouge in February of 2006. I liked it there and had some doggie friends I got to play with all the time. In October of 2006 Mommy and I moved back to DFW and moved in with Daddy. I love having my whole family together! When we moved back in with Daddy, he had a foster dog, Panzer. I liked Panzer but he went to his forever home so now I don't get to see him anymore. Mommy, Daddy, and I lived in an apartment for about 6 months and I had an awesome dog sitter who would come and take me for walks everyday while Mommy and Daddy were at work.

In May we moved into our new house! I absolutely love it! We have a huge backyard and there are lots of doggies around to play with! There are also miles of trails starting just down the street from our house.

I think the next couple of months are going to be fun! I love the holidays because there are lots of fun things for dogs to do like Barktoberfest and Christmas tree hunting. We are all very excited too because we are hosting Thanksgiving this year and BOTH sets of my grandparents are going to be here and 3 of my uncles, and my cousin! My cousin is 4, so I bet he drops a lot of food for me! Yea!

Ok, well that's all for now! I'll try to be a little better at updating, but I make no promises.

Post Katrina Update

Well, I have been living in Santa Cruz, California since the beginning of September. Mommy left to go back to Louisiana to help make New Orleans better again... She is working for FEMA and helping a lot of people everyday. I miss her, but I have been having a lot of fun here with my Uncle dog and Grandma and Grandpa! Mommy also sends me toys sometimes, so I like that! Hanging out with Grandma is lots of fun! She stays home with me almost all the time and she takes us up to Lighthouse field where I don't have to wear my leash! It is so much fun! Also, there is a backyard here so I can go outside whenever I want to! Uncle Austin and I also have fun together when he isn't taking my chews... I had to get brushed today and I think I heard Grandma make an appointment to get groomed... She said Mommy is coming to see me on Wednesday though, so I guess it is all worth it!

We had company a little while ago, and Grandma and Grandpa came home and put a BIG TREE! in the middle of the living room!! I think it is so neat! There are lots of fun things on it to eat...I tried two, but then Grandma yelled at me...I didn't like that very much, so I'm going to try real hard not to eat anymore...They just look like so much fun to play with !

Well, I think I heard Grandma say something about a carride! I hope we aren't going over the mountain cause that makes me feel sick to my tummy, but I think we are because she said we had to get my Uncle Brian from the airport...Boy, I can't wait to see everyone! Happy Holidays Everyone! (And try not to eat things off the tree cause you'll probably get in trouble too...)

Hurricane Katrina

Mommy and I evacuated from New Orleans on Saturday afternoon...I saw her packing and was VERY confused...I was so glad that I got to go with her... It was weird when we left. Mommy brought in all of our pretty plants and moved the furniture away from the windows. We got in the car and tried to get gas, but all of the gas stations were out of gas; luckily, mommy had enough to get us out of the city. We were in a little bit of traffic getting out of the city, but made it out pretty quickly. We took a very long drive up to Fort Worth, TX. It was VERY LONG; mommy said we made good time since it only took 9 hours and it usually takes 8 (even though that is longer, it was good because we stopped to eat and go potty, and had to get out of the city). We got to Daddy's house in Fort Worth around 1:00 Sunday morning.
I was so happy to see my daddy and all of his roommates! I missed them very much! While we were at Daddy's house, I had to go to the vet to get my flea medicine and heartworm medicine. I also got to go pick out new toys. Mommy didn't bring very much with her when we left. We didn't know the storm was going to be so bad; we thought we were just going to see daddy for a long weekend, and then we would go home. Now we aren't sure when we are going home.
On Wednesday morning, we flew to California to see my Grandparents and uncle dog. I didn't like the plane ride very much! Daddy went out to the gate with Mommy to make sure that I got on the plane ok. Daddy watched a very mean man pick up the back of my cage, where I couldn't see, and drop it like 5 times!! It scared me. Daddy went and talked to the person in charge, and they were very upset about it too and said that they would take care of it! When mommy got me off the plane, I was very sleepy but was very glad to be in California.
Now we are in California and are staying at my Grandma's house at the beach. Mommy and I are very glad to have some time off to figure out what we are going to do. We don't know when we are going to be able to go back to New Orleans and check our stuff. We also don't know how bad our house is. We lived on the 2nd floor of a house, so we don't think there was any flooding, but we don't know about wind damage and looting.
I will try to keep everyone updated on how mommy and I are doing. I am very busy here going for walks and playing with my Uncle Austin. Thank you very much for your concern.

Whirlwind

Wow! December went by very quickly. I will give you a quick update of everything that I did. Well, mommy, daddy and I flew to California. I was pretty good when I got to sit in my carrier on the empty seat between mom and dad, but when I had to go back under the seat infront of them, I started to cry...I didn't like that. Then I got to meet my Uncle Austin. I like him a lot, but he is kind of a fuddy-duddy and doesn't always like to play with me. I like it in California because Mommy stays home with me all day and I get to play in the backyard and go for walks. I had a really fun christmas. On the day before christmas eve, I went and got my present from mommy out from under the tree and opened it while everyone was eatting dinner. It was a boring old collar, not worth getting yelled at. I really liked christmas. Santa brought me all kinds of new things. My favorite is the ball/rawhide that Mommy got for Uncle Austin. It's been really rainy and yucky here lately, so I've been cooped up inside. I'm starting to get cabin fever and have been whining a lot lately. ..I can't help it, I'm bored!! I had an okay New Years. I didn't really like the fireworks, they were scary. Uncle Austin barked and scared them all away though. Daddy went back home today because he has to go to work. I miss him already, but I Mommy said that I will get to see him in less than two weeks. I'm going to go tell mommy that I want to go to bed now...I need to kick Uncle Austin off my blanket first though. Happy New Years everyone, just please no more fireworks....

First Hair Cut

This morning, Mommy took me to Petsmart, so I thought I was going to get a treat, or see my friends, but instead, so left me there! Then I got a bath; the lady told me it was to make me not so itchy anymore (Mommy said I got fleas from our walks). Then she cut my hair... I didn't like it when she cut the hair around my ears. I don't really know how much I liked to whole thing. I was very happy to see mommy when she got there. She says I look very pretty!

Then I went for a long carride with Mommy; we went all over Arlington. I was very glad that I didn't get left home, but I was very sleepy, so I slept in the car the whole time. Mommy just put my dinner down, so I'm going to go!! YUM!

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth (and they are- coming in)

Today I went to puppy class! Mommy said that I did SOOOO good. Today we worked more on sit (which I can already do), and we learned down and stay. I was so good, and stayed in a lay for about 5 minutes! I was kinda sad though because the teachers didn't tell me that I did a good job, they just kept talking about how good the other dogs were...Oh well, mommy and I know that I am the best!!

After class, mommy bought me some more of my favorite rawhide chews; then I got to meet Santa!! He is very big, and I think he is furrier than I am!! I got my picture taken with him and the ladies there said I was the cutest dog all day!! Then mommy and I came home and hung Christmas lights. I tried to help, but I was very tired, so I took a nap. When daddy got home, we all went for a walk to look at the Christmas lights...They were very pretty.

I'm very sleepy now though, so I'm going to go jump in bed with Mommy...I like to try and kick her off the bed...I've gotten pretty close, maybe tonight will be the night I get the whole bed to myself...

Really bad day

Mommy and I had a really bad day. It started out good because we went for a walk, but when we got back to the car, someone had broken mommy's car window and stolen her purse. There was glass all in the car and I didn't know what to do. Mommy was really upset and I tried to make her feel better...I think I did a good job. Then I had to stay home by myself all day while mommy went to get a new license, some money, and a new car window.

We did a good thing tonight though. When I went outside to go potty, there was another dog outside all by itself, so mommy and I helped find its way home.

Daddy is out of town and I miss him, but mommy said he'll be home tomorrow.

River Legacy Park

Today mommy took me for a walk at this really big park. There were lots of fun things to smell. All these people kept walking by and I couldn't tell if they wanted to play and I should say hi, or if I should be scared of them. Then we went to daddy's work. There were LOTS of neat things to smell and eat there too. Mommy wouldn't let me eat anything though. I'm very sleep now though, so I'm going to take a nap! WOOF! Love, Koda Dog
