Arrival Story: Denzel has arrived at CBR-East! He was retired from biomedical research studies in which he was infrequently used for non-toxic drug testing. This is very common, and we have adopted out many dogs who have been used in this way and gone on to wonderful retirements as loving pets! There are no expected side effects to this type of testing.
Bio: Denzel is absolutely adorable, and is already fascinated with balls and toys in general. He is a playful beagle who seems to love everyone. He will make a wonderful addition to a new family, especially if there is another dog around for him to play with! He is cratetrained, and continues to work on his housetraining. He loves to snuggle with someone, and will thrive in a home where he can get a lot of attention. He's just a wonderful beagle looking for a great forever family with whom he can share his retirement!
Update:**Denzel had 3 seizures in 5 months while in foster care, and after beginning treatment (Phenobarbital) for a seizure disorder, has had none in the last 5 months. This is an inexpensive treatment ($10/month) and Denzel is doing very well on it! Epilepsy is extremely common in beagles, so Denzel is not an unusual case. With medication, seizures are usually decreased to few and far between. He still needs a wonderful, loving home, and deserves a chance with a great family.
