Diddletwits and Hoses: A sunny day for Sadie

The weather here has been great, so mom fills up the "kiddy" pool for us kids so we can play and cool off. Well, the pool isn't the best part. That hose is a blast! I love to bite the water as it shoots out of the end. Sometimes it makes me cough and sometimes I get water up my nose and then achoo! Big sneezes. It doesn't stop me for long before I am back , biting the hose water. Max is kind of a diddletwit as he doesn't like to bite the water. Not AT ALL. If mom points the hose at him, he just runs away. The boy just doesn't get it. So, that leaves the hose all to me and I sure don't mind that! The only problem is, sometimes the water stops coming out of the hose. Then I am sad, but only for a little while cuz' there are always a few tennis balls in the backyard for me to play with. Max is a diddletwit when it comes to tennis balls, too. He doesn't want to chase them or nothing. Just pulls the yellow fuzz off with his front teeth. Then mom or dad throws the partially ball away. How stupid is that? Anyway, the pool is a great place to play with Max...except he can be a pool piggy and bites my legs as I try to get in. Little brothers can be such pains (and diddletwits).

Off for a nap.

Best Toy EVER!!!

My Mom & Dad brought me a new toy and it is the best toy EVER!!! It is a huge, long snake-toy. You are not going to believe this...both ends squeek!!! I know! Unbelievable, but true! And the little end rattles too. I even like it better than my own tail, which is pretty hard to beat. I chase my tail every chance I get, every day. Mom says she has never seen a dog so obsessed (she likes using those dollar words) with its tail. I don't know what that word means, but I like to catch my tail whenever I get the chance. It just won't hold still! Someone has to make sure it behaves and doesn't get away. There are times it is a difficult job- I get a hold of it and we go around and around so much I fall over. As soon as I let go of it, off it goes trying to get away from me. Rascally thing, that tail. I have more good news, that orange-cat-Kenny seems to be warming up to me. He doesn't always hiss and slap at me now. In fact, there are times he rubs up against me and lets me lick his head. I guess he just had to get to know me. The other-dog-David still doesn't want to play with me. He will share the bed with me, but makes faces the whole time. Now where is that snake? It was just here a minute ago...

Car trip

Today Mom & Dad took me in the car. They haven't done that in awhile because I (oops) kinda chewed on the carpet in the back of the Explorer one time. They have a big fence so I can't climb all over and I have a blanket and toys. But sometimes I just can't help myself. So they took me to see the Vet, it was a man and he was nice. I got shots and my nails clipped. Then we went to the farm store where I got to go in and see all the people there and all the "stuff" there is . My folks got me a new squeeky puppy toy for the car rides ( I have one at home) and a new pretty collar since I am outgrowing my old one. I had a good time since all the people pay so much attention to me and tell me how pretty and sweet I am. The Vet said I am very smart :-) Mom was right! Well this whole day trip got me pretty tuckered out so I think I will go take a nap on the couch. Current Mood: Happy and mellow

I know Mom wants to teach me lots of things, but it is sooooo hard to pay attention to her when the world is full of so much STUFF! She tells me I am a smart girl and sometimes I get treats :-) Those are the best. I like them much better than the deer poop I found in Mom's garden. I have learned hand signs to these commands: sit, stay, come. I am having a hard time with the whole "down" thing. It is getting easier, but who wants to lay down when I can run, jump and play? Sometimes my Mom is just plain weird. Today she made me get in the tub and have a shower. What is wrong with this woman? Why would she think that I want a bath? I don't even like the rain. Anyway, she tells me how good I am during the entire bath, and pets me a lot. If she knew what I really thought of her at the time. Well, I won't tell because she does love me and I love her. Besides, I was pretty muddy from playing in the garden! There are so many sticks out there! I can't get enough of them in my mouth. I love sticks! Yaaaaay STICKS. current mood: tired

I am now 4 months old and have grown so much! I weighed 25 pounds a month ago and now I weigh 45! My Mom can't pick me up anymore. I love the mornings when I can get out of my crate and run around and jump on the bed with Mom. She doesn't seem to like my cold nose though. Still having a hard time fitting in with the Big Dog David and the little cat Kenny. Not as bad, but I still want to play with them. I got lotsa of toys now and am very good at decorating the whole house with them. Sometimes when I have to be in my crate, my Mom gives me my Kong with peanut butter inside...num num! Sometimes the big cat Ollie plays with my Kong. I think he is confused. I have been getting some new big dog teeth and so I chew alot on those rawhide bones. I can really go through them. current mood: silly

Getting bigger every day

My Mom says that I am getting bigger every day. I sure like to play. First thing in the morning I run through the house like a little horse. I pick up and play with each toy I see. I try to play with the cats, but the little one, Kenny, still hisses at me and sometimes slaps me. The big one, Oliver, seems to like me as long as I don't bounce around too much. He will let me sniff him once in a while. Both of them guard me and keep me safe when I am in my crate. Isn't that nice? I love to play outside with any stick or leaf I find on the ground. Mom throws the ball for me and most of the time I bring it right back for her (unless I get distracted by a nice stick!). I don't like that rain at all. It is just icky. Not even a good stick is worth being outside in that icky stuff!
