Arrival Story: We saw Roxy in a Pet shop in Winnipeg and recognized the breed as one we researched some time ago when we were considering getting a dog. Of course she was absolutely adorable, and so came home with us. We were prepared for strong-willed but like many new Shiba owners we are discovering just how defiant they can be. No fear though - I adore her spirit and am determined to help her become the best, happiest girl possible. I am lucky to not be working now and am able to devote at least one eye to her all day (the other one on my computer searching for tips and support in raising Roxy!) She's only 4 months now and Roxy shows all the typical traits of the Siba Inu. Her coat is excellent for our Manitoba winters and she accepts wearing her 'boots' when it's really cold & icy. She's great on a leash and is for the most part housebroken. She's strong willed but is no match for her stubborn Mum (me : ) ) and we already have a great bond. I'm looking forward to our journey together! Our geriatric Siamese cat is surprisingly tolerant of her playfulness and Rox is learning when enough is enough...
