   Leave a bone for Nemo

Nicknames:
My Christmas Miracle

Arrival Story:
Having recently lost Biscuit to a sudden illness--brain encephalitis-- I began to look for a companion for us. Well, on the shortest day of the year, the 21st, I found Nemo. She is a dog that was rescued along with two siblings that were dumped on the side of the road in a cardboard box. Unlike her siblings, Nemo had a broken jaw and head injuries. She was half the size of her siblings and so weak she couldn't lift her head. The woman who found them, Samantha, nursed all back to health and quickly found homes for the siblings. Nemo, however, needed more attention. Recently, Samantha (a nice Midwesterner who is new to San Francisco) who had been living on a friend's couch, found an apartment--but it does not allow dogs. So she posted Nemo's picture through Grateful Dogs Rescue and I responded. Visiting rights have been granted to Samantha as she is truly the saint in this story. So meet Nemo. 3 months old when I got her. Chihuahua mix. 2.7 pounds with sweater. And full of love. She is my Christmas miracle. Although Biscuit continues to be missed dearly, Bosco is now eating again and playing with the puppy. We look forward to a healthy New Year for all three of us. So happy holidays to all and know there are still some Christmas miracles out there.
