I got a haircut and I look totally cute!

(That's really all that's new with me. I love my family and my Cobi. We have some new toys. We've been to dog beach a bunch of times. And I still love riding in the Land Rover whenever I can. Life is GOOD.)

My mom is SO MEAN!

She took Cobi to the dog beach today and didn't take ME!

I'm off to sulk...

Love,
Tessie

[Mom's note: I'll take you next time, Tess. Cobi has never been to the dog beach so I wanted to see how he would do without having to worry about you, too. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.]

[Tessie's note to Mom: You sure make it hard for me to stay mad.]

ZOMG!

I love my new brother!

In the mornings Mom will take us out in the yard and she'll throw the ball for Cobi and when he goes to chase it? I chase him! Over and over and over and...well, he's a Border Collie so the game could go on forever!

My mom took us to the dog park together for the first time and that was AWESOME. She used the chuck-it to throw the balls really far, so Cobi ran super fast to get them. And I ran even faster. Boy, was I tired THAT night!

Sometimes Cobi is a little bit annoying. Like when he takes the squeaky purple hippo while I'm playing with it. Or when he leaps off the bed and practically lands on me. But that's little brothers for you, right?

Have a super day!

Love,
Tessie

P.S. If you're reading for the first time because I'm one of today's Top Picks...hi! Wanna be friends?!

I have a new doggy friend! His name is Cobi and he's a border collie and he's mine, all mine!

Well, okay, I share him with my family, but I like him!

Tessie

Feelin' blue

When I lived with my other people, I had a friend. A brother. But when my new family adopted me, they didn't bring my brother. That was okay becauses my new people had a big dog for me to hang out with. She wasn't much fun, but she kept me company when they weren't home. But then HER mom and dad took her back to Ohio for the summer and now I'm all alone. Mom thinks she might be projecting her feelings on me, but no... I'm feeling a little blue. Eating isn't as much fun when you don't have to worry about someone else coming to stick their nose in your bowl. And as much as I like sleeping, it's more fun to sleep with a buddy.

Also, I know a new trick called Find the Squeaky. My girl hid my squeaky purple hippo under the cushion of her chair--and I found it! Then she hid it behind a container in her closet--and I found it again! And when my mom came home from work yesterday and asked me where my squeaky was, I ran over to my girl's bedroom door. Mom opened it and--there it was! I'm so smart!

Feelin' blue...but smart.

Tessie

My mom has a proud...

...because I was waiting for her to come open the back of the Rover so I could jump in and heard something moving in the bushes. Mom said, "No!" and I didn't go investigate even though I really wanted to. Sometimes it's better just being with Mom than it is investigating critters.

Well, today, anyway.

Love,
Tessie

[Mom's note: It's a baby step, but it's a step. Yay, Tessie!]

An Interesting Discovery [MOM'S ENTRY]

I took Tessie with me to visit my husband at the marina where he was working. She'd never been to a marina before, so her little legs were shaking while she walked on the narrow docks. But I noticed that she kept looking over the edge at the water, as if she wanted to go IN. So I took her to a little kayak launching beach and she went straight into the water. And that's when I discovered that she likes FLAT water instead of waves. She's not keen on swimming at the beach where the waves wash in and out, but on the bay side, where the water was calm, she went straight in. Now to find a good place for her to swim!

Outsmarted!

Today my mom took me to the doggie beach, but left my leash on me so she could catch me whenever she wanted. Boo! But, she caught me a few times, gave me a treat, told me I was a good girl, and then... LET ME GO PLAY AGAIN! I still didn't like it when she made me leave, but maybe now when Mom catches me it doesn't always mean I have to stop playing.

Also, I was SWIMMING today. I don't really like it very much, but all the other dogs were doing it, so I did, too!

That's all for now!

Love,
Tessie

My mom put me outside today so I could investigate things, but the door didn't go shut all the way. I turned around to see what was going on and there was this BLACK WIGGLY THING wiggling around by the door. I tried to grab it a couple of times to keep it from getting my mom, but it wouldn't hold still. Mom got up to see what all the fuss was about and said that wiggly thing was a snake. She made me come in the house through a different door and Dad used a screwdriver to poke it away while he got it unstuck. Whew!

[Mom's note: It wasn't a harmful snake, but what a brave girl for trying to keep it from getting into the house! Oh, and Tessie, you don't have to be worried about the orange outdoor electric cord or the cord for the elliptical machines. Those only LOOK like snakes.]

Off to play keep away with my girl!

Love,
Tessie

Beach Day!

Today my mom and my girl took me to the beach. But not the beach with all the dogs--the beach with peoples! I had to stay on the leash, but mom took me in the water and taught me to jump over the waves. I'm not crazy about going in the big waves, but I had a good time sniffing in the wind and checking out the peoples and the birds and the other dogs.

Mom also gave me treats whenever she said, "Tessie, come!" and I went to her. I didn't ALWAYS go to her because sometimes there was a people or a bird or a dog that was more interesting, but we're working on it.

Now we're home and I'm pooped!

Love,
Tessie
