Hi Pup Pals,
It's been a while since Mommy has been on Dogster, mainly cuz it was giving her laptop problems...bumping her offline & she could not even use their IM to chat with all your mommies. But I talked her into trying it again, so here we are....
Today is such a BIG day for me. I turned ONE, and we're gonna have a party celebration in my honor this evening. Mommy got me a party dress, and she even has pink "1st BIRTHDAY" party decorations for our guests...including little party hats & goody bags....lol. Mom said she's got her digital camera charging in hopes of finally changing some of my pics here on Dogster. I am so excited!!!
Yesterday, Mommy took me and my little fur brother, Brody
{who is 10 weeks younger than me} to Pet Smart for some serious toy shopping. I got to pick out a half dozen adogable toys and 2 special bags of yummy treats at the store. Pet Smart had loads of toys on sale...some were even half-price if you use your Pet Smart Perks card, which Momma did ; D.
Mom wanted to share that last bit of news with all your Moms & Dads, just in case you pups were needing some new play things. I am a dainty little girl who believes you can never have too many toys or too many party dresses...lol. And to think that when I arrived here in January '09 {when I was almost 9 months}, I didn't even know what to do with them. Toys are such fun! I play with every one of the 2 dozen we now have, and I play with a whole lotta stuff I'm not supposed to have too.
Then Mommy gets upset, takes it away & gives me one of MY toys.
Mommy's things are real different than Brody's and mine...I especially like taking her wallet out of her purse if she puts it down on the coffee table, I am very careful not to chew up her money though. I like grabbing her car keys too cause I like the sounds they make. But Mommy always finds me, and then I have to give them up. ***sigh***
Now that the weather is getting nicer, Mommy has been taking me outside to go potty...and I've almost got it down. But so far, I don't have ways to tell Mom that I gotta go....she just takes us out as often as possible in hopes that we take care of business while we are outdoors sniffing and playing in the yard. We still use puppy pads at night, and Mom keeps one in the kitchen at all times...in case the need to go arises & we're home alone...
Mommy just got us a 6' nylon tunnel and tent to play in b/c she had read that Brussels Griffons love agility. She got it in Targets toy department for $20, and it's really cool. We haven't tried it out yet, but plan to later this week. Maybe Mom will post a picture or video of me & Brody running through it.
Before my party tonight, Mommy may take Brody and I to our dog park. I got spayed on April 2nd, and Mom wanted to wait till I was fully healed before we ventured over there. So I am doubly excited because I'm going to the park first, then putting on my party dress & celebrating MY special day....with all my family & the 3 grandkids.
Everyday is SPECIAL at our house because Mom & Michael love me, Brody, Taylor, Darcy & Rex and we love them back.... : D

Hi pup pals....
I hope all of you had a good couple of weeks and a great week-end. Mine was especially fun..you see, yesterday I turned 10 months old, and Mommy decided to do something special for me. So, last
evening from 6-10pm, Mom took me and Brody over to Shadow's
{our 11-month doxie furiend} for a playdate. We had the best time,
racing through the house, finding all Shadow's chewies (which he was generous in sharing}, and stealing the kitty's food. BOL! We also had a barking good time playing with Shadow. It was so much
fun....Brody & I didn't wanna leave, but as soon as Mom took us out to the car for the 20 minute ride back home, we were zonked out. Needless to say, we slept all night...we were sooo tired, but so
happy too. Mommy also got us an aqua Wubba toy at the Pet Deli; she wanted to get 2 of them...blue for Brody, and PINK for me..
but all the pink ones were gone. Mom said she'll get me my very own PINK Wubba next time she goes to the Pet Deli. We're having alot of fun playing and tugging on our new Wubba.
Tonight, it is supposed to snow and snow and snow some more....
it's due to start any time now, and go all night and all day Monday.
Weather guy says 10-12"...Mommy is NOT happy!! She didn't like the mud though either because Darcy's BIG feet keep bringing it in the house, then our little paws followed suit. Impossible to keep the kitchen floor clean. But now snow?!! NO!!! Mommy was so hoping that we had seen the last of any significant amounts. It was so nice to see the "brown" grass showing through the mud, & lately, Mommy was waking up to some of the birds chirping...so she thought Spring was gonna arrive any day. Well, not today, or even this week.... it's gonna be frigid here....like -11F degrees tomorrow night, and only about 20F in the day. Brrr! Guess me and Brody will be using our puppy wee pads for the next day or so....
I'll have Brody write in his blog next, and he can fill you in all the snow we got. Till then....
Kisses, Keira

Our sweet, little Keira...we have only known your love & endearing
ways for just 3 weeks now, but in that short time...all of us here have fallen "madly in love with you!" You have such a sweet, calm
disposition & have blended quickly and well into our ever-growing
fur family!
You...like Brody, are another Brussels Griffon, who's sole reason on
this Earth is to love their masters & be loyal family members. You spent the first 8 months of your puppyhood in crates and hotel rooms, trying to be a show puppy....but hard as your breeder tried,
you would not "settle" for that lifestyle. It wasn't your forte. You were being deprived of a loving family, a chaotic but happy household, puppy days of adventure, a whole new world with fun
toys.....and Brody!
Yes, we decided last month that Brody should have a playmate all
his own...we didn't know then that he'd be sharing his life with another Griffon like himself, but strangely & suddenly, this rare
opportunity arose and Mommy had to check it out for herself.
Again....it had to be fate that brought you here to us because your breeder's ad stated "Griffons, up to 5 years, for sale to loving homes". Really, what was the chance of her having a BLACK puppy under 1 year? But she did!!! The moment we saw you, Keira, ALL of us were in LOVE with YOU! You have such an adorable, sweet face with the biggest, most expressive eyes....
How could we not take you home with us?
We know that you have only been with us a few short weeks, but already you are coming into your own....you have broken out of your "shell" and are learning the wonderful life of being just a little puppy; Brody has been quite adept at showing you "the ropes". and you seem to be very, very happy here in your new furever home. We are thrilled that you have joined our family, and Mommy & Michael will do our very best to give you the wonderful life you so deserve. We look forward to spending many long, happy years with you, my darling, and Brody! We are so happy that YOU found US! Happy Valentine's Day, sweet Keira.
Our Love Always,
Mommy & Michael
