The Saga of SpirulinaJanuary 10th 2010 7:00 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Cessi's dad recently read that Spirulina is really good for dogs. So Cessi's mom sprinkled some on Cessi's food and put the plate down before Cessi, as usual, and as usual Cessi enthusiastically ran towards her food breathing heavily through her nose. The trouble is Spirulina is a really fine powder. It's almost dust-like. So, when Cessi breathed on it, it rose up in a plume the color of ink. It also has a strong sea-weed smell. Well, it appears that Cessi thought it was alive! She would stalk it, back away, stalk it again, growl, and try to "get" it from the sides. She was really uneasy about the whole thing. Muffled growls could be heard every minute or so but no overt attack took place. Mom left Cessi to deal with her food, hoping that in a few minutes the food's non-aggression would become apparent to Cessi and things would return to normal. That didn't happen. Cessi was still stalking the nemesis ten minutes later, when mom returned. None of the food had been touched. Well, the foe had to be mixed into the food with a spoon! Once it no longer rose in a plume of ink, the food became edible (and even good). Mom knows better now than to leave Spirulina sprinkled on top. None of Cessi's siblings had such a troubling experience with Spirulina. They just ate their meals and were done with them. Cessi is different. She is a funny girl.
first snowJanuary 27th 2009 6:53 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Cessi really loves snow! Her pitch-black fur sets of the snow flakes, and she looks majestic when dotted with them. Cessi is a big girl and is now a middle-aged individual. Despite this, snow arouses the younger dog within her. She starts leaping into the air, with the grace of a true retriever. She has so much fun playing with her brother Clooney. They play so rough and run so fast that they tire themselves out quickly and then enjoy long naps back inside the warm house.
