Arrival Story:
I had been searching for a puppy for months and months. Finally after lots of research, I realized I wanted a basset hound puppy. I saw lots of ads in the paper, but this one just felt right. We called his mom and she said she had one left. When we went tp pick him up, he took well to my husband and I and we both fell in love. He was a Christmas gift from my mother. I just felt the name Huey for some reason but my mom wanted to name him St. Nick or we compromised with St. Hubert.

I only found out today that Basset hounds are descendents of the St. Hubert interesting! I guess he was meant to be. Huey was born on September 22, 2004 to a mama and papa basset hound in Memphis TN. He was born on the 4 month anniversary of our wedding day! He doesn't have papers, but that really isn't important to me. He is just a family pet anyway.

Huey isn't available for chat today, but as his mother, I feel that an entry should be dedicated to him on his birthday. Especially since I am such a horrible furmom.

Yes, today, Huey is at the vet. I dropped him of this morning. This was the first time I had ever left him with anyone strange before. A couple of tears driving away, I realized that I was a horrible mother. Today, Huey is getting fixed.

It's a sad thing I know...but even though today is his birthday, it just needed to be done. He has gotten out of our WOODEN fence this week and I just don't want to risk him doing it again because of some hot lady that is apparently in our neighorhood. But Yes, I have been putting it off for a year and a half now I guess. No excuses...

Huey will have a wonderful birthday party next weekend to celebrate after all of his wounds have healed.

Don't you think he deserves some extra special paws and bones on a day like today!!

1. Are you an accomplished counter-cruiser?
No, actually I avoid counters...see below

2. Do you get in the garbage?
Yes, because as you see above...the good stuff can be found in the trash.
Especially the bathroom trash. I tend to aviod the bags though...they're a
bit scary.

3. Do you chew up things around the house?
Yes, and the slaves are constantly buying me new toys...I particulary love
the snow stuff that comes out of them when you shake your head around a bit.
I recently found out that my mom slave had an affair with my uncle Horace
(the great dane) and I chewed up the shorts of hers that had his scent on
them. That will teach her to go visit him without me being there.

4. Do you make people laugh?
Yeppo...i can arrooo with the best of them and I love to lay on my
stuff does hang out because it's all still there...haha Carlisle (I have my
slave trained!!) And my slave's friends say I run funny...they make fun of
short people, how arrRude. The side tounge gets them all the time!!!

5. Do your slaves use the word "no" a lot?
Yes especially today for some reason...Huey no, HUEY...NO...I am beginning
to wonder if no means to relieve myself on the carpet or's quite

A yes to most of the above indicates a dog may be a good OEBE candidate....

A. Do you have a big wardrobe of snoods? dad is totally against it. Mom tried to buy me a sweater for the
winter....I didn't like it too much and dad said real men don't wear

B. Do you wear feather boas?
um...see above

C. Are your nails painted?
HA!!! I am the type of man who likes dirt in between them. Do you think I
sit still long enough for them to get cut...especially painted.

D. Do you frequently give other bassets advice on etiquette?
I have only met one basset and I tried, but he was old and cranky...

E. Are you a hypocrite, not following said advice yourself?
NAH, what fun would that be.

SO...what am I, and what does that mean??
