Arrival Story: In 2006, we already had a yellow lab, Maggie May, who will be 5 in March. I was diagnosed with cancer, and while in the hospital I was given the book "Marley and Me". In early May 2006 after 2 surgeries, my fiancee and I went to a kennel to inquire about boarding Maggie and the kennel owner is Granite Retrievers. They had two puppies that were 6 weeks old but both were sold. While there, the prosepective owner of the male pup called and cancelled stating he and wife were going away for the summer and they would just get another pup in the fall. I played with Marley and my husband said no way are we going to have two dogs, even though I begged to buy Marley. The next day, my husband says, "when do you want to go get that pup?" I thought he was kidding. He wasn't and we named this pup Marley, and he certainly has lived up to his name.

Bio: Marley is extremely fit, muscular, and a prime athletic specimen of his breed. His pedigree reflects a long line of accomplished field dogs. He is intelligent, very birdie, loves to work, and most of all wants to please. His natural abilities reflect excellent marking, courage, outstanding style, perseverance, and performs well both on land and water. At home he is a loving companion, protective but not aggressive, and the happiest dog you've ever seen.
