Arrival Story:
I worked for the local animal shelter as an office assistant and heard Isabelle's story and felt awful for her so i went into the puppy to play with her and feel in love with her instantly. She was able to come home on March 15th 2004, she is mommy's special girl.

Isabelle's mom "Chunky" who is now named Lady came to the animal shelter with her brother to placed up for adoption. When the owners were asked if they knew the female was pregnant they said no, but knew she was not spayed and most likely was pregnant by her not neutered brother. Lady went into labor that night and was in labor for much of the next day, she had 15 puppies (boy was she pregnant), unfortuantly 5 of the puppies did not make it past a week. There would have been one that died right at birth if it hadn't been for one of the vet techs that dashed into Lady's run to get to the puppy. Lady was not happy about this, but all the vet tech wanted to do was save the little puppy. She shook the puppt to get all the fluids out of its lungs and rub its back to get its heart pumping again. When everyone was ready to give up there was a little whimper from the tiny puppy, it was alive! That puppy came to be named "Noel" and her other littermates had Christmas related names. When the puppies were ready for adoption they were put out to be viewed by the public little "Noel" was attacked by her littermates. It was at this time the caretakers and office assistants noticed there was something "different" about "Noel" from her littermates and we think the other puppies knew it too. We put a letter on the door of "Noel's" run that she was now in by herself saying that she was a little on the "special ed" side. Hearing this story and having a learning disability myself i felt some what a connection to her. I had to go back and play with her on my break, after doing that i was sold. I was able to adopt "Noel" who is now named Isabelle on March 15th 2004 and she has been such a love ever since and very difficult to train because really is retarded, but i have come up with IEP for her. She has been excellent training for becoming a Special Education teacher which i am currently at school for.
