Gryffin absolutely loves his people. You can practically see his heart breaking when he's left home alone.
The toaster - it's a very scary thing.
Anything stuffed, that he can promptly unstuff.
He LOVES when he gets to go to the park! A car ride AND a walk!
Gryffin will crawl across the floor on his belly for a treat.
When I was a high school senior I really started getting after my parents about getting a dog. My sister had just gotten married and we had so much fun with their first daughter, a lab puppy, that I thought I could get them to get our own dog. It worked! We started looking at adoptions online and eventually found a cute older (6 month) puppy at allpetsrescue.org.
We contacted the organization and they sent somebody out to meet us, check out our house and make sure we'd be a good family. Shortly after that they arranged a caravan to bring our puppy along with some of his siblings to their new homes up north (he was in South Carolina, we are in New Jersey).
On March 2, 2003 we met up with the van carrying Gryffin (his new name, Starky didn't cut it) and his friends. I stuck my head in the window and of all the dogs in there, it was my dog that immediately ran over to me and started licking my face. Not much has changed since then!
Gryffin is one spoiled rotten (and very lucky!) dog. His best friend is my sister's Lab, Kona. They're the same age and love to run around and wrestle together. Some of his favorite things to do other than play with Kona are go for walks and rides in the car. Unlike his labby friend, he won't eat everything and anything. He will only eat certain kinds of meat...sometimes. And he does have quite a taste for milk and ice cream. His favorite (and only) treats are chicken jerky strips. Gryffin loves to sleep on the bed, or wherever the people might be. He does have a cat sharing his house, and as much as he would like to be her friend she just hates him!
But it's okay. His people more than make up for the love that he doesn't get from that big, mean kitty.
