(An Ode to a Former Cat who had the misfortune to be struck by a car just down the street from us. The dogs were wildly alarmed at this cat who did not run or try to punch them. I wrapped the poor thing in an old beach towel and the funeral will take place this evening, back near the Hawthorne Tree. He was a handsome green eyed cat with tortoise spots on a white body.
