Arrival Story:
Sabina made her way up from Georgia to an animal shelter in New York. After the death of my first dog, I felt it was finally time to get another. Late summer of '07 I stopped by a local SPCA shelter not really excepting to get anything, but upon looking at her, I instantly fell in love with her and just had to get her.

Bio:
At the shelter from where I adopted Sabina, they told me she was a Red Heeler X German Shepherd mix. I have recently come to find that she is actually a Carolina Dog (a 'CD' breeder confirmed that)... She is a little over 55lbs; a very good looking and structured dog. She has a strong hunting/prey drive, she's very "sight orientated," uses her paws a lot, and is also a natural-born water dog who loves going for morning swims. She's skeptical about strangers, but warms up to any friendly face. She's loyal, very loving, and protective and is good with other animals (except for the ones she's hunting). She loves puppies, but isn't really a huge fan of other [adult] dogs. Before I got her, she was an abused case and therefore can also be a bit timid about certain things. Also, she wasn't properly socialized with other canines and thus gets a bit anxious and nervous-aggressive towards other dogs that she's not use to (she is getting a bit better though).
