Arrival Story: I wanted a shih-tzu forever and in Nov. 08 we bought a black & white male, we called him Samson. We got him spur of the moment when we were still in mourning over our beloved Beagle of 7 years passed away. We bought him at a flea market with no papers or guarantee because we instantly fell in love with him. A few days later he came down with Parvo and passed away. That just about killed the whole family. We didn't have him long but it was like he had been with us forever. After him we were gonna wait a while, being tired of all the heartache of already losing two. My daughter kept asking for another dog for x-mas and I'm a sucker when it comes to the holidays so I looked on the computer for another. I called about a litter hoping they would have a black/white one. When I got there cinnamon was the last one left and again we fell in love. We named her Cinnamon because of her Cinnamon color. She had papers with her and she had her 1st shots. I had already bleached everything in the housr and bought all new doggie stuff. The day that I was to take her for her 2nd shots she started throwing up. When I took her to my vet he said that she too had Parvo. I almost screamed. He gave her a shot for nasea and told me the things that I could do for her so I took her home. For 4 days I gave her pepto and forced down pedialyte every 2 hrs. On the 5th night she was just as sick as Samson was the night before he passed. I warned the kids that she probably wouldn't make it till morning. I stayed up all that night with her forcing down more fluids and I probably fell off to sleep about 4am. I awoke to the alarm clock going off and I didn't see her anywhere. Right then the worst came to mind. I just knew she had crawled off somewhere and passed away. I went to the kitchen and just about fell down when I saw her eating on her own. I could not believe it. After a couple days she was fine and has been healthy since. My kids said a prayer for her that night before bed and I prayed all night but not with much hope. God answered our prayers and that tells me that she was meant to be with us and she is a very lucky and special little dog. We are now looking for a play mate for Cinnamon but you can bet that he or she will have all sets of shots before we bring him or her home.
