The Hurricane

This is the story of my life from 2005 to now. I won't have time to write it all at once, so check back here from time to time.

All I really remember about the hurricane is there was a lot of wind and water. The hurricane was named Katrina and boy did she destroy my home.

I was signed over to a rescue group, put in a small kennel and then onto a truck. It was a long ride from New Orleans to Memphis, TN.

When I got to Memphis I was taken out of the small kennel (thank goodness) and given a bath (yuck). I did feel much better though. The lady who gave me a bath was really nice, but a little afraid of me so she put a black thing on my mouth and nose. I think she called it a Hannible Lecter mask. Not sure what that means...but I didn't have to wear it for long.

I also received my "shots" I never knew I was suppose to have "shots" whatever that means besides having a sharp object stuck into my behind.

Found out I had heartworms.... worms in my heart? Not good. And everyone wanted to know how I lost my foot. I think I had to chew it off since the Vet said it didn't look I had any type of surgery. Wow, I'm glad I don't remember that 'cos it must have been awful.

So, I'm a three legged dog with heartworms. As I was wondering if I'd ever get a new home a nice lady said that she would foster me until I got better.

This could be a really long story, but I'll make it fairly short. I was fostered by a couple of families then adopted out to a couple of families who had to return me to the Humane Society in Memphis.

I realized that the lady at the Humane Society was the lady who was afraid of me that very first night I was in Memphis. I actually got to live in her office for awhile. I was really nice to her and greeted her every morning for at least a year with my tail wagging. I would actually do a little good morning dance for her too. I loved her soooo much.

I'll keep you guessing at what happens next. More later.
