Leave a bone for Greta - Adopted!!!

Nicknames: Speck, Spot, Greta Lynn

Quick Bio:
Likes: Being with her foster family. Playing with toys. Pestering her foster brother.

Pet-Peeves: Apparently, she doesn't like the 'one name' thing - she told me she wants a proper last name just like her foster brother and sisters. Oh, she also told me that she doesn't like her photo, so I need to get on the ball and get some better pictures posted.

Favorite Toy: She loves pillows and blankets. She doesn't chew them, just drags them around the house.

Favorite Food: Greta loves any kind of food, which is good because she's still underweight. She's on Nutro Lamb and Rice now, with liver treats and some peanut butter to help fatten her up a bit.

Favorite Walk: Around the block, to the park. She loves, loves, loves walks and is learning to mind her manners while on a leash.

Best Tricks: We're working on basic obedience so she'll know what's expected of her once she finds the perfect family.

Arrival Story: Greta was dropped off at a kill shelter because her owners were divorcing and neither one wanted the dog. :-( Great Dane Rescue of North Texas picked up Greta and took her to their vet to be spayed, microchipped, and brought up-to-date on shots, then placed her with us - her foster family. Greta has only been with us a couple of weeks, but we've already fallen in love with her. She came into rescue so scared it took four people to get her into the vet's office. In the beginning, she was a petrified, shivering little girl who flinched when someone tried to give her some love. Now she comes galloping up to us for attention. I can't wait to see how much she blossoms when she's found her forever family!

Bio: Great Dane Rescue of North Texas has a very strict application process; visit www.danerescue.net for more information. Poor Greta has been through so much, it's important that the humans in charge of her now make sure that her new guardians are a perfect match for her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~UPDATE!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Greta has been adopted and she wants everyone to know she has a new name (and she's tickled pink to report her new family not only gave her the last name she's been longing for, but also a middle name. What a bonus!) HAZEL MAY SPEER is settling in well with her forever family and she hopes they'll be willing to keep her dogster page updated. :-)
