Life is tough being a Service Dog

Stewards at Dog shows

Mommy took me to a dog show last weekend and it was mostly fun, but it was a little boring. I was off duty most of the time so I was allowed to lay around and be a dog for most of 3 days and was still able to be out of the house. YAY!
Anyway on to the bad part. The last day we were there Mommy and her friends and their dogs wanted something to eat. So we wandered into the concession area. It was not posted No Dogs Allowed so we figured we could all be in there. Well some of the mean stewards yelled at all of us that no dogs were allowed in that area. So Mommy went and got my vest and then asked everyone what they wanted from the stand. Once she got the orders, me and Mommy went in to order all the food, with me in my service dog vest. The mean stewards yelled at Mommy that there were no dogs allowed and Mommy just ignored them. (She doesn't deal with people that are going to yell.) We proceeded up to the counter to order the food. One of the stewards walked up and read my vest really loudly, it hurt my ears. Mommy just ignored the lady and proceeded to wait in line for her turn to order. The lady then said I don't care what this stupid cape says, there are no dogs allowed, and she grabbed my leash. The minute the lady grabbed my leash Mommy told me to splat (lay down and don't move til she gives me the release word). So as I lay on the ground watching this lady try to drag me up and away, Mommy was about ready to hurt this person, when her friend that was the man walked up behind the lady to deal with her. Mommy just bent down, unhooked the leash from my collar, put me in front of her so that on one could touch me and ordered the food. Once Mommy had the food for the 3 humans she told me to heel and we walked out of the concession area with our food. The entire time I was off leash and was behaving perfectly. Mommy was so proud of me that I was able to handle the whole situation so calmly, while she was about to lose it. Mommy's friend brought my leash back and Mommy put it back on me. We then went and sat down to eat our food. I was now able to relax a little more again. Mommy says that she needs to go and email the club that was hosting the show and tell them what happened. Well I gotta go Mommy wants to snuggle with me and Princess.

Today Mom took Princess!!

Tonight mom took Princess instead of me, something about Princess hasen't gone anywhere in a while and I had already worked for the day and was acting tired when I was out. Doesn't she know that the acting tired was really just me being bored. I would prefer to be up doing something then laying under a table, it is so boring. When mom came home I prompty jumped on her to let her know that I didn't appreciate being left behind. Princess gave me this smug look like "I got to go and you had to stay home". Mom assured me that we have a lot of work to do tomorrow, she better not be lying to me. I might have to wake her up at the crack of dawn so that we can start working early.
