Arrival Story:
After losing my-best-dog Honey to cancer in February, '08, I thought I'd never be able to take in another dog. However, my beagle was turning into a depressed couch potato, and my grief was healing, so I started looking at the shelters in December. I went to one of them to look at a couple of dogs, but one was out in foster care and the other was being adopted. Wishes was my third choice, so I decided to meet her. It was love at first site for me. I DID NOT intend to get a "large" dog, but stuff happens. After I met her, I posted online to get advice about the breed and was warned repeatedly that I would not have enough time for a GSP; that they were always "on" and needed hours of hard exercise, a big yard, a big house, and constant input. I decided to ignore the advice and so far, we're doing fine. :)
