Arrival Story:
I bought Azuki in Florida when he was 4 months old. I had met the breeder before but she didn't have any available puppies at that time and I told her I'd like one from the next litter. She got this puppy back from his first owner and asked if I wanted him. I said YES!!!

Bio:
A few years later I met my husband, from England, and we made the big move from the USA to the UK. Azuki went through 6 months of quarantine but didn't mind it. Much harder on me! Azuki loves England! Azuki shares his home with Cassey, another shiba inu, my husband Kevin and myself. Sadly on 18th August 2012, Azuki went to the Rainbow Bridge. He will always be much loved and missed.

Azuki - Life of Shiba

In loving memory of my dear boy

Azuki passed over to the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday 18th August 2012. He was indeed my best friend and we will miss him dearly.

Azuki lived to the ripe old age of 15 and lived it to the full every day. For a dog who had an uncertain future in the beginning due to a heart murmur, he was able to have a wonderful long life full of happy memories.

Happy Birthday to me!

Happy birthday to me! I'm 9 years old today. But, I have to spend it in the crate. Hopefully mommy gets me something nice when she goes shopping today! :)

Monday when my mommy got home I started acting funny and couldn't walk right. She and Dad took me to the vet right away. I hate that place! They always touch in places I don't like and always give me nasty shots! I wasn't any better on Tuesday so they had to take me in again. This time the vet told them we'd have to make a long car journey the next day to Chester because I have a spinal injury.

I was quite tired and didn't mind the 2 hours in the car but when we got there I knew immediately it was ANOTHER vet! This vet gave me a very thorough inspection and I screamed to high heaven. This vet had never met a shiba before and I was determined to let him know that I didn't like the situation. The vet told mom and dad all the possibilities of what might be wrong with me and they looked a bit worried. I stayed at the vets where they gave me yet again another injection and then put me in this machine called an MRI so they could scan me and find out what was wrong. Mom and dad came back and heard me crying in the recovery room so knew I'd made it through that horrible ordeal. The vet showed them the pictures and to everyone's relief I only have 2 slipped discs. One in my neck and one in my back.

So, now I have to stay in my crate (my den) for 1 month. That means no walkies, no jumping, no stairs, no nothing! I can go in the garden to do my business and that's it! I'm not going to like this one bit, especially when I feel better. But, I suppose mom knows best. I'm getting lots of special treats and attention, but of course I deserve that! I'm a shiba after all! I'm still not telling how it happened. It's a secret for me and Cassey!
