Arrival Story:
We purchased Zephyr from a breeder in Tennessee. We got him when he was 5 months old. He had severe anxiety problems, coupled with incredible insecurity and fear. For a week after he arrived, we could hardly get him to leave the crate he flew in to get to Utah. After much coaxing, love, bonding and trust-building on our part, Zephyr came out of his shell at about 9 months of age. We video-recorded the first time he PLAYED with us! Can you believe that, a puppy that wouldn't play for 4 months??!! It's been 4 years, and our sweet little Zephyr is practically a different dog. He has been through extensive socialization, and will now approach almost anyone for pets, and shows very little fear. He is still apprehensive around very dominant human males (?). We love him to pieces - we consider him forever a member of our family, and try to give the best and healthiest life we can.
