Arrival Story:
During our vacation in San Fransisco, we saw a little chihuahua being dragged around with no collar, just a BIG chain around his neck. He could barely hold his head up from the weight. We stopped the people by asking if we could pet their dog. They told us he was 5 months old and they had rescued him from a drug addict. They clearly were not equipped to take care of him either. We offered to buy the dog and they sold him to us on the spot. That day we took him to a wonderful non-profit animal hospital, where he was checked and received his shots. Except for fleas, he received a clean bill of health. After swallowing his food whole for four days straight, he finally learned that he could relax and chew his food. From then on, Max went everywhere with us on our vacation and then flew happily to his new home in Wisconsin. Now he has a best friend (our toy poodle, Sadie) and two cats that he's learning how to interact with. He's such a joy to have around.

Bio:
We're not sure if Max is a purebred, kind of doubt it, but it doesn't really matter. If somebody has any ideas of what he could be mixed with, if anything, we welcome them. His back is 12" high, 24" from nose to tail. See his pics. :)

1. I'm 10# of bone lovin, cat chasin, free wheelin, face-lickin' fun!
2. I prefer mommy's lap to anywhere else, but as long as I can burrow, I'm happy just about anywhere in the house.
3. My favorite trouble making exercise is ripping paper into tiny little pieces all over the house.
4. My second favorite trouble making exercise is messing with the toilet paper rolls.
5. My favorite treat chewing on rawhides, taking Sadie's toys.
6. I am not fond of the cold, snow and ice, but will go potty for mom.
7. I like to round up people and then run wagon train circles around them.

Max's 1st Christmas

Mom brought a big tree into the house and put all kinds of lights and stuff on it. It's pretty. I like to lay under it. My family got very excited ever since that tree came into the house. With lots of wrapped boxes and string laying around, I got excited too. Sadie and me got new toys and I unwrapped them both. Everyone is home more lately and I sure like that. Mom says I'm a Good Boy when I go potty outside in the snow. I don't want to stay out there long, oh boy it's cold! I have a coat, but don't like it. Mom says it's Christmastime. I think I like Christmastime.

I Belong

I'm Max. I came from the streets of San Fransisco. Those people were pulling me around on a heavy chain. I couldn't keep up with them cuz I was so little, but they didn't notice, they just kept pulling. I was very hungry then. I saw my new mom at the same time she saw me. I wined and pulled on that chain until she came up to me. I clung to her like nobody's business. She took me away from those people and got me some food. I ate until I threw up and then kept eating again..it was so good to have food. I ate and ate. Then I slept and slept. When I would wake up, mom was there to pet me and talk to me. She taught me how to go potty outside and on the potty pad. She says I'm a Good Boy. My new family plays with me and I run through the grass in the sunshine with my new sister. So this is what it's like to have a family. I like family.
