Birthday:

Likes:
Having never had toys he was baffled at first....but then he realized what they were for and he took FULL advantage of the toy situation. He can out maneuver the other goldens and it is total chaos when a good game of keep away is in full swing.

Pet-Peeves:
Very happy, well adjusted dog....loves TV (!?!?!)...watches intently!!

Favorite Toy:
Soft stuffed bone, nylabone for chewing and...Kady who he loves to wrestle with.

Favorite Food:
His dog food....puppy cookies, liver treats and he has learned the fine art of cleaning out the little carton of yoplait yogurt and get right down to the last little snippet at the bottom....YUM

Favorite Walk:
Down the country roads....he was pretty excited when he got his first glimpse of a deer recently.....he stared and stared but it was the rabbits that really set him off. He wanted to chase them soooo bad but we told him no.

Best Tricks:
He can sit, stay, shake and listens intently when we give a command...he is a very well behaved boy on walks......

Arrival Story:
After losing our sweet Baylee in December OF '08 I couldn't stand it...even with the other dogs the house felt empty. I went onto the Utah site Companion Golden Retriever Rescue and perused the dogs.....immediately "Zeus" as he was called, caught my eye. He was young and just a gorgeous dog. I immediately emailed figuring if it was meant to be then he would be available. I waited and waited (it seemed like forever when it was actually 24 hours)...they said that he was available but that other people were interested....they told me to send in an application asap to adopt....and I did...within 30 seconds of the email. My references checked out and they called and said he was mine....we made arrangements for us to drive the almost 300 miles to get him in West Jordan, Utah. Unfortunately, Mother Nature got in the way with a huge snowstorm plus the Christmas holiday so we asked if they could hold him....and they fostered him to a wonderful family for a week. We went up and got him on Dec. 31st of 2008....What a great way to start a new year. He is just a DOLL....someone really messed up when they let this dog get away. He ended up in a shelter and then into the caring hands of CGRR .Thanks to Debbie of CGRR in West Jordan and her friend, Mary, who fostered him for a week for us. Awesome people!!!

Bio:
He was a stray (!) and ended up at the shelter where the CGGR group grabbed him....got him neutered and all his shots and microchipped and put him up for adoption. It is hard to believe that this dog was a stray. He is absolutely gorgeous.....and such a sweet personality you can't believe it. Very much a puppy still....We are sooooo in love with him. update...it is eerie how much like our Baylee this dog is....he has the same mannerisms and quirks that I loved in Baylee so am giving him the middle name of Baylee....in honor of his predecessor.....Baylee would be proud. November 2009.....JB has been with us 10 + months and has really come into his own.....for a dog that never knew what toys, playtime, hugs were he is reveling in all of the above. I can't believe how much like my Baylee that he is....there are eerie moments when I think Baylee is inside this dog....we cuddle and snuggle and it's like I could close my eyes and this would be Bay....but JB has his own personality too....he romps and plays now like he is catching up on all the time he didn't get to play. We adore him....and encourage everyone to adopt a dog that needs a home rather than having to get a puppy....I am sold on rescues after this one.....Update: Jan 2011...Jordan is the love of my life...he is so adorable and such a sweet, endearing dog. He will come from nowhere to crawl into your lap and snuggle. He has rescued me instead of the other way around.

Almost a year

I have been here nearly a year...and I love my family. I finally learned what toys are and what fun it is to run and chase my brothers all over the house. I lost my oldest brother, Hunter, in Sept. He was pretty old (11) and he started having problems with his kidneys. My mom and dad had to have him put to sleep....and I miss him. He was a nice old guy.....
My parents are pretty surprised at what a wild and crazy guy I turned into. I had issues when I came here with being scared and shy but no more!! I have self esteem now and I am proud of myself....
I LOVE to go on walks and I am very well behaved on the leash. My parents have even allowed me to go off leash and they are impressed that I stay with them and walk like a gentleman!!
I hear that they are going to put a tree up in the house pretty soon and I am not sure what I am going to think about that.....it ought to be interesting.....but I also heard that everyone gets presents so I am excited to say the least.....I have already made a list of what I want.....
Gotta run....I hear someone in the kitchen.....maybe I can weasel a snack out of somebody!!!

My life

I am doing really good, Mom says......I got totally house trained thanks to the liver treats that they plied me with every time I went outside....so have that under my belt. Now I am driving everyone nuts because I am shedding and the hair is on everything....mom vacuums several times a day but it is no use.....and she brushes and brushes me but it keeps coming off! I have lost enough hair to make 10 dogs....and still no end in sight. Guess that came with me being an outside dog before my new home and it was a cold winter. Now that I am inside....well, it is raining hair!
Love my family, love my life....everyone adores me so I have got it made...except for the hair issue which I hope will end soon....this stuff is sticking to everything.....even my doggie siblings...the Viszla looks like a wannabe golden!!!

My new home

Well, I have been in my new forever home for about 6 weeks...my siblings are pretty awesome guys. Blake (a golden like me) is loads of fun to play tug of war with and run helter skelter through the snow with. He has shown me how to dig around in the snow and find hunks of ice that we chow down on ....and my crazy Viszla bro is totally a nut case. We race each other up and down the stairs making mom crazy and nearly sending her flying (don't think she appreciates that much but we love to do it and can't help ourselves!!!)....My older (and much wiser brother, I must add), is a kind old soul who lays on his bed and watches us do stupid stuff....sometimes I think he shakes his head in awe of our antics but I'm not so sure. He gets crazy usually in the morning after breakfast and chases me around barking and jumping but that about does it for him for the rest of the day. He prefers to sit in the front window and watch the wild turkeys in our yard. Don't tell anyone but my plan is to have one of those turkeys for my very own....I already tried one day....I jumped the little white picket fence out front and took off running but dad yelled and I had to come back....so close yet so far away.....that's about it for now...gotta go raise a ruckus somewhere or plow the back yard that is full of snow with my nose!!!
