Arrival Story:
I was first given to the daughter of my current Mom, but she was unable to keep me because the place she moved to wouldn't allow dogs. I came from a pet shop, but I wasn't really for sale at the pet shop. The pet shop had some puppies (and other animals) that people couldn't find homes for so the pet shop would take them and give them their first shots and put them up for adoption. My Mom says she has been very happy since I joined her family.

I'm Finally Back

Oh my it's been a long time since I've been able to get in here. My Mom got sick and then she said she had to play catch up from that so I didn't get in. Then her Mom went to the hospital and it was a pretty upsetting time around here. I guess everyone is feeling better at this point in time. I'm glad cause I don't like it when Mom is sick or feeling sad. I try and make her feel better by being near her, and she always gives me big hugs, so I think it helps.

I hope all of you other dogs and dog parents are feeling ok and don't get sick!

My Trip

Boy howdy, I thought yesterday was going to be my day. My adopted Mom owner got out the leash and I did the happy dance. She layed it down on the table and I smelled of it and bumped her with my nose to let her know I was ready to use that thing. Finally she picked it up and put it on me. We went out the door and there was Mom's daughter...this is really a good day, cause I love seeing her. She was my first Mom when I was a tiny little pup. Well back to yesterday's story. Mom opened the car door and I jumped right in. I'm not real happy when I ride in a car, because I just can't seem to find a comfortable way to sit. We were riding in my first Mom's car and she has little kids. They must have dropped food on the floor, so I made sure to clean up their mess. We finally stopped driving and got out. If I say so myself, I think I was very good on that ride. I didn't jump in the front seat at all. I've been told that can bother the people up there. I don't see it, but then there are a lot of those kind of rules that I don't really understand. I can come right up to those people when I'm in the house or out in the yard, so what's the difference in a car?! Ok ok, I know, back to my story. After getting out of the car I saw a door and my Mom was heading that way, so I did too. I got right up to that door and then something in the back of my head said "Something doesn't smell right here". They opened that door and I stopped dead in my tracks. I just remembered what it was that was not right....THAT DOOR GOES TO THE VET'S OFFICE! Oh man, what did I do to deserve this. By now I was so nervous that I made a little mess on the floor...I felt really bad, but no one yelled at me. They took me into a room and made me stand on something. I don't usually like to get up on that thing, but I thought this time I'd be nice and get up there. Then the doc said that I weighed 57 pounds. I know that sounds like a lot, but I'm NOT fat, I'm just big boned. After that my Mom and the Doc decided I should be picked up and put up on a table. Have I not been told all the days of my life to stay off of tables?!!! This is just the oddest place. Once I was up on the table the Doc started putting things in places that I don't think things should be put. He poked around in my ears with one thing, and then he said he was going to take my temperature. I don't even want to think about that anymore. After that he stuck me with something a couple times, but it was really quick so it didn't hurt too much. I was ready to leave since I figured that was enough, but Mom told me to sit down. Have you ever tried to sit on a metal table when you have hair on your rear and the bottoms of your feet? It just doesn't work very good. I kept sliding all over the place. Mom held me tighter and said she was afraid I was going to fall off. I thought "ya think"? I'm afraid that by this time my thoughts weren't very nice. Finally the Doc came back in and said I could get down. I was thrilled. We got back in the car and went home. I was ready for a nap after all that silly stuff, so I took one. I hope we don't have to go there again any time soon.

Happy New Year

My owner says that it is a new year. I don't really understand what that is, but everyone seems happy about it. I don't see anything new myself...there is still snow on the ground and some wet stuff is falling from the sky at the moment. I think my owner said it is icy rain. We have been having lots of stuff falling from the sky lately so there is nothing different or new about that. I just can't think of anything that has changed around here. This new year stuff has to be one of those silly things that humans come up with, and animals might as well not bother to try and figure out.
