Our other dog, Griffin.

Favorite Food:
Fish or meat or cheese

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere there may be chipmunks, squirrels, or kitty cats

Best Tricks:
I am quite coordinated; I can catch a ball or treat in mid-air. also, kicking Griffin's @$$. He's bigger than me, but he's a wuss. My tail actually spins in circles like I'm ready for lift-off!

Arrival Story:
Lucy was about 3 months old and wandering the streets of Bluffton,SC with a pack of stray dogs. She was limping with a hurt paw. Our friend, Chris, called her over. He doctored her up but couldn't keep her since he and his wife already had 3 other dogs they had rescued. I was getting my very own condo and wanted a dog. That was 4 years ago.

Lucy now lives in a big house with a big fenced-in backyard that she shares with Griffin. If I had a voice I would sound like Kathleen Turner.

Well, two months ago I moved from Marietta, GA to Bluffton, SC. My mom knows how much I love Mama Aimee, Carson, and Jeffrey, so she let me go. I'm so glad that she wants what is best for me because this is the BEST THING EVER!!!! This place is awesome!!!!!!!!! Am I making it clear just how HAPPY I AM? I go on long walks everyday, but today was the BEST! I got to go on a boat. I never considered myself a water dog, being a Beagle/Terrier mix and all, but being out on that boat was so freeing! Did you know there are little minnow things to chase? I ran all over the sand bar and even met a friend! OK, don't get so excited to think that I went swimming. No way! But wading up to my shoulders is enough and very awesome! I'll leave the swimming to the Retrievers. Deal? I mean, really, my thing is to dig up rodents and kill 'em, but I can dig this water thing - on my own terms!

Peace out!
The Luce

New Year, new leg

A few months ago, I tore my ACL. It didn't bother me too much. I mean, I still ran and played, but I couldn't jump in the car, and I was slow to climb the stairs. Mom didn't think I was too bad off; after all, I went with her on a hike a mile straight up Kennesaw Mtn, and I did great! Well, Mom was urged to get me surgery anyway, so on Dec 20th I had what they call "TPLO" surgery. I can't remember what it stands for, but I am feeling like new already! Just a few days after my surgery, I jumped in the back seat of the car! I forgot to wait for my mom to pick me up to put me in. I'm still not supposed to do too much, but I'm feeling fine. My staples came out the other day, and you can't even tell they were there!
I'm just writing all this because, well, I have some free time and also to let you all know that if you need surgery, don't worry about it! Oh sure, the surgery and recovery were no walk in the park, but it's so worth it to be back to normal and good as new! Now, I can go for a walk in the park and even chase a squirrel!

Prayers, please

Hey, everybody. I went to the doctor today, and he told me that I have a torn ACL. Well, I'm out for the season, and they're threatening not to renew my contract. I hurt, but the drugs are helping. Once I get the surgery, I'm gonna have to be sedentary, which will be hard because I like to follow my people around the house. Anyway, it's gonna cost my mom about $2,500, and she was unemployed for the first 5 months of this year. She loves me so much and says she'll sacrifice whatever she has to, but I hate to see her worry. Anyway, I'm just asking for your prayers for my surgery, healing, and that insurance will cover SOMETHING!!!
Thanks for all your doggone support!!!!
