Arrival Story:
I acquired Emma from an elderly couple who could no longer care for her, she was about to be turned in at the local shelter. I took her b/c I was certain that I could find her a great home, esp since I was just about to start vet school. I mean, who wouldn't want a fun, sweet, (yet hyper!) young lab? Well, turns out that noone really wanted her. I had no intention of keeping her, knowing that I wouldn't have the time or space for a dog like her. Also, I knew that I could never get a 2nd dog while I had Shelby; b/c she did not like other dogs, esp crazy ones like Emma, and I just knew she would be insanely jealous. Well, it turned out that Emma's easy-going personality was a perfect compliment to Shelby. They are great buds and play and sleep together, since the beginning. Emma fits so well into our household; she gets along with Shelby and the cats, and she is content to be a couch potato or play all day. So, she got to stay :)

Bio:
Emma is a wonderful dog who really knows how to live and love life. She will play ball for hours on end. She is the sweetest, most gentle dog I have ever met, and the best snuggler. She is great with children; she stands for dress-up, and speaks on the phone to my niece, who always asks to 'talk to Emma'.
