DEAR ROXY,

YOU ARE SUCH A SWEET SWEET GIRL AND HAVE BECOME A DEAR FRIEND TO ALL.

I'M SORRY YOUR LITTLE BROTHER 'BARROW' BEATS UP ON YOU BUT YOU ALWAYS PUT HIM IN HIS PLACE. HE LOVES YOU TOO AND COULDN'T BE WITHOUT YOU.

I BELIEVE ALL YOUR FEARS ARE GONE, AND ALL IS FORGOTTEN. MY ONLY HOPE IS THAT THE MAN WHO BEAT YOU GETS WHAT IS DUE HIM IN LIFE. 'AN EYE FOR AN EYE' AS THE GOOD BOOK SAYS.

I AM SO GLAD I AM HERE, SO GLAD I WAS FOUND, AND IT'S SO WONDERFUL TO BE LOVED.

Roxy wants to tell a story.....

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell.

He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups.
And set about nailing it to a post on the
edge of his yard.

As he was driving the
last nail into the post,he felt a tug on
his overalls. He looked down into the
eyes of a little boy. "Mister," he said,
"I want to buy one of your puppies."
"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the
sweat of the back of ! his neck,
"These puppies come from fine parents and
cost a good deal of money."

The boy dropped his head for a moment.
Then reaching deep into his pocket,
he pulled out a handful of change and held
it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine
cents. Is that enough to take a look?"
"Sure," said the farmer, and with that he
let out a whistle. Here, Dolly!" he called.

Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran
Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.

The little boy pressed his face against the
chain link fence. His eyes danced with
delight. As the dogs made their way to the
fence, the little boy noticed something else
stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another
little ball appeared, this one noticeably
smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a
somewhat awkward manner, the little pup
began hobbling toward the others, doing its
best to catch up.... "I want that one,"
the little boy said, pointing to the runt.

The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and
said, "Son, you don't want that puppy.
He will never be able to run and play with
you like these other dogs would. "

With thatthe little boy stepped back from the fence,
reached down, and began rolling up one leg
f his trousers.

In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides
of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe. Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well
myself, and he will need someone who
understands. "

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked
up the little pup.

Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy.

"How much?" asked the little boy.

"No charge," answered the farmer,

"There's no charge for love."

Well, Barrow, my little Malamute brother has been here one week - he ain't that bad, in fact he's kind of fun to push around and play with. Mom says he's gonna get really really big but that's OK - I was here first! I'm the boss. and that's all I have to say about that.

A DOG'S TEN COMMANDMENTS

I - My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

II - Give me time to understand what you want of me, I wish to please you.

III - Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

IV - Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

V - Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

VI - Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

VII - Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

VIII - Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak. OR maybe you've overlooked something. I won't do anything "for spite".

IX - Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

X - On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me PLEASE. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

Moving Day

Well, I guess this is it - Mom says she's gonna move things around today to make room for "Barrow the Mighty Malamute's" crate. I think I'll be OK having a little brother but I know it's gonna be hard to share. Mom says I hafta be a good example - like that's gonna happen! I've given in - I'm getting a little brother. Oh, and Mom says if I don't treat him right, in a few months he'll be able to kick my butt - whatever that means! I have a dumb question - are Malamutes big? I'm thinking that's what she meant! (SIGH)

Happy Christmas 2008

12/27/2008

I spent my very first HAPPY Christmas with my new family. Last year I spent the holidays chained in a damp cellar with some bad dogs and was hardly fed. When my new Mommy brought me from the man that rescued me, I was very shy and afraid. Over the past months I have come to know that these folks will not hurt me or treat me unkindly. I love them very much. I have a sister Bernese Mountain Dog, Stella, whom I love to play with and house cats that I love to chase. They are my friends. For Christmas I got lots of hugs and kisses, new toys, and some snacks. All I wanted was a new home, and I sure got one. I think God answers puppy's prayers too! I love it here! Happy Holidays to everyone and if you can find it in your heart to rescue a pup like me, please do it! Roxy Jo xx
