Willy was bought for me after the passing of my dog "Dog" (a gold lab mix)by my boss at the time. He thought I would really like a terrier. She was the runt of the litter but was very inquisitive even though she was less than a month old when I picked her out.

The Story Behind My Name....:
Well, it happened something like this...........
When Mom brought me home, she thought I was going to be this cute, gentle lap dog and she started calling me "Sarah". She thought it was a sweet girl name. But......... I am a terrier, and her visions of a sissy foo-foo lap dog went up in smoke! I was a rough and tumble, back down to nothing kamikaze. I treated all my toys like rodents that taunted me and had finally been caught. If it squeaked, it died! If it didn't, I just shook it to death. It was becoming apparent that "Sarah" did not fit me, so a hunt was on for a new name. I went through a couple other names in the next few weeks but I don't recall what they were. Then one day, the power went out and Mom had a flashlight. I "flipped" out! It was the coolest toy ever!!! I'd chase that spot until I was delirious. That's when I started getting called "Flip" and from there it kind of turned into "Flip Wilson". A sign of the times, I guess. As time went on, I was called Willy most of the time. So, there you have it, the story behind my name. If you didn't know who Flip Wilson was, would it still sound like a male name?
