Arrival Story:
I met him at Schnauzerpalooza, sponosred by a Schnauzer rescue group at the city's dog park. I was there to adopt a 15-month old named Heidi. She was "tied up in litigation" so she did not attend. I also saw a 9-year old I had expressed interest in earlier, but did not feel a connection when I saw him. When I saw Winston I fell in love immediately. He was neatly groomed, and interacted well with a toddler, 9-year old boy, and both men and women. He was 12, but had more get up an go than many of the younger dogs. He got along with the other dogs, and stayed out of the disputes of other dogs. He sealed the deal by letting me walk him and letting me pick him up and sitting in my lap for about an hour.

Bio:
The wife and child of his former pack leader had severe allergies. He gave Winston to a rescue group so that he could have another good home. He is such a great companion and a sweetie, I know it had to be difficult to give him up after so many years.

One of my mom's co-workers drew a cartoon of me! I'm so excited that I might get to be a character for their children's products. My character is going to be the wise one. They soo know me. Now some of the bosses just have to sign off on the project and I'll be famous. Mom says this will be my legacy in addition to being on a bunch of websites and TV.

When I accept my award I'll remember all the little pups, like Schmutt...

To the Park to Bark!

Mom likes to take me to the park so I can run without my leash. But today was really special. Lot's of people were at the park to celebrate dogs. I met two pretty girl schnauzers. They were very classy because they wore pink pearls and collars. As usual all the big dogs were running around like they owned the place, but I think the two-legged vendors really liked us little ones alot. I got a lot of free food. I got to run around and hunt for bones. I'm a schnauzer so you know I found a bunch! I saw my lady friends from Petsmart, they remember me from my Christmas card. They all say how sweet I am.

I saw kinda strange looking dogs --French bulldogs. My mom seemed to like them. I think they looked a little scary. I made lots of two-legged and four-legged friends. I'm glad it's getting warm again, my back leg was feeling stiff and I had to start hopping again.

Tooo Clean!

Mom decided to clean the carpet. First, she took me to the ladies that give me a bath and cut my hair and stuff. But this time they just washed me. And I had to stay there all day. When I got home Mom said the floor was still wet. She seemed a little irritated. Then she wouldn't let me go anywhere. She picked me up to take me outside. She was carrying me around like I was some new pup. And she made me stay in my crate. When I finally could walk around the house it smelled differet. All of my good smells are gone!! I sniffed to try to find the spot where granddaddy dropped the fish. I looked for the coffee spots and the bubble gum soda spot. Then I looked for the spots where I got sick and on and on. I found nothing. It all smelled like CLEAN. I guess I'll have to wait until people start coming by and messing it up again.
