Well I am now 1 year old! My owners are still waiting for me to mellow out - little do they now that this aint gonna happen anytime in the near future. I drive Mom batty chewing - eating - destroying every shoe in sight. She complains she is going bankrupt having to replace shoes all the time and often curses at daddy for NOT CLOSING THE CLOSET DOOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mom gets mad at me taking her for a drag every day on our walk so she just bought me a horse harness - which stops me from choking myself - so I might be nice and let her actually walk me for a change. Im still upset Mom and Dad wont let me go and catch one of those squirells I see daily - all they do is complain I pull their arms out of their socketts everytime I see one and dart towards it. I have more freedom in the day when they work - I now get the basement and stairs in the front hall - however Mom does not see the humour in me destroying anything I can get my mouth on should she let me have full rein over the house when they are gone - and besides if one of the three cats does not want to play with me - its not my fault that I have to chase them and knock a few things over in my path!!!!!
Anyway life is pretty good for a one year old puppy - and from what I read I will always be a puppy - doormats are for the other breeds not the top goldens!

well, the snow is starting to melt, and i can finally find all my toys in the back yard, but i still perfer to bring some new ones out with me. dad was looking for something the other day called tape, but i have no idea what hes talking about. i did find this round thing that fits my nose pretty good though.
these guys keep going on and on about how big i'm getting, not sure what the fuss is about, i feel like i'm still a puppy, but they keep saying ohhhh what a big boy. humans.....go figure.
well if they ever let me alone, i can get back to sleep, chasing the cats and doing all those easy things they call tricks is getting me tired. yawwwnnn, nite for now.

Here I am back again........its been an eventful couple of weeks. Had my new first vet visit........GREAT COOKIES there I tell ya. Might actually fake a cough or sneeze just to see if they take me back there.........did I mention how good those dr.'s cookies are??????
I have trained my owners more sucessfully over the past couple of weeks. Its great, I roll on my back and show them my belly and boom they start rubbin it.....and if you walk up to them while they are sitting down, Im guaranteed some ear rubbies too...They have not learned yet that I will eventully destroy all the stuffed animals in the house, nor have they learned that eating their socks really isnt a good idea if they ever plan on wearing them again, so I have lots of socks and animals all over the house. The cats still arn't coming around to my line of thinking........but dont worry, pretty soon my family will give me the run of the house........then watch out!!!!!! Gonna blame everything on those fur balls and I'll just sit there giving my owner those sad puppy eyes they keep saying I have. My mom thinks its really cute when she walks me, cause I hold part of the leash in my mouth so it looks like Im walking myself...little does she know Im trying to impress the blonde poodle with curly hair down the road.......I successfully took down the christmas tree, man did voices get loud after that one, but I rather did enjoy it. My little owner was yelling at Mom to come cause I knocked it over, then Mom was yelling at Dad to get his %^&% out of bed, but when Dad showed up, he started yelling at me!!!! I was the most quiet one out of the lot.....yet all the focused turned on me.....they cant take a joke very well. (Personal note), set the cats up to take the blame next year) However there is one question I have that absolutely stumps me. If Im a retriever, then that means I retrieve things....so why is it, when I retrieve all the garbage on the side of the road when we go for walks I get into trouble????????? Gonna take a snooze and think about that one..........till next time!
