Arrival Story:
We decided it was time to expand the pack after seeing the add's for the Iam's Home 4 the Holidays campaign. We know there a million dogs needing good homes, so we decided to look at the local shelter. We had originally seen a girl pitty named Phoebe online but by the time we got there she was adopted. Yay Phoebe!!! She got a home. So we walked the kennels and I wanted to take them all home, but we found the perfect fit for us in the very last kennel. A tiny little gray pit girl who was quiet and submissive to the other dog in her kennel. She's the perfect fit for us. Gracie came home December 18, 2008 and will be here until she goes to doggy heaven a long long time in the future.

Bio:
The shelter is horrible place. I know the people who work there are doing the best they can with the little resources they have, but walking through looking at the dogs is just heartbreaking. So many sweet good dogs all begging to be loved, and given good homes. It's horrible how humans treat other species. These poor animals just want to please us and to see the condition some of them are in as a result of humans is infuriating. Gracie's kennel mate was a prime example of how stupid humans are. She was a red pitbull about a year old, had already been bred, and some stupid *%#@ had obviously taken a pair of scissors to her ears. Yes, you heard me right- scissors. A home done ear crop job. I hope that person someday gets what they deserve. As for Red, she deserves a loving home, and we would have taken her, but she was obviously the more dominant of the two dogs. When we came to the kennel she stepped on Gracie's head to push her down just so she get to us. I know she just wanted to be loved, but we needed a dog that would be submissive since Benny is used to being the baby. I really pray someone takes Red and gives her a good home that makes up for all the bad that had happened to her. Dog bless Red and all the dogs who suffer at the hands of humans.
