Arrival Story:
Zach came to the shelter I volunteer with (www.circletail.org) and didn't make it as a service dog, deciding of course he'd much rather be a pampered pet. He came home with me the last week of June 2003.

Bio:
Who knows- he's a rescue... Since I got him though, he has been CGC registered, and we are working on getting TDI (Therapy Dogs International) tested so that this loving, gentle guy can bring smiles to even more people. ***Zach would like to make sure that everyone knows that dogs should not have grapes and/or raisins. It can cause kidney failure, and is quite expensive to treat- if you make it to the vet. There is info on the ASPCAs website about it, seach for "raisins".*** Zach passed away yesterday (2/18/09). He and I had a deal - he couldn't leave me before I finished my "school stuff". I got the official go-ahead from the State of Ohio that I had my occupational therapy license on the 17th. On the 18th he collapsed, and at the vet I found out his body and organs were riddled with cancer. I kept up my end of our deal - not to let him suffer, or to keep him around just for my own sake... He's waiting for me at The Rainbow Bridge - I am sure!
